Comment:
Don't take this class if you actually want to learn. Group projects are difficult because the entire class is online. Scott doesn't look at the homework and gives easy grades there, but on final assignments suddenly wants to give all types of input. Final project is unnecessary and I didn't learn anything all semester but it helped my GPA out

I don't really think he looks at the weekly group homework at all. We have to do these case studies where our group just made up the results. Not that hard of a class, but I feel the final case study where we need to make a video is completely unnecessary and that turning in the power point should have been good enough.

Comment:
Professor Martens is about as far-removed from the course as possible in terms of caring about his students. His grading criteria is vague, and he does not look in-depth at homework/essay/exam responses, he only looks to make sure that specific keywords or topics were mentioned. If you ask him for help he is very dismissive.

Comment:
The class was very informative and helpful. Scott challenges you to learn in a few different ways which helps you retain information better. The downside - he makes you work in groups to do weekly assignments and a group project. I may have just gotten very unlucky, but my group members hardly participated, which ended up bad for me and my grade.

Comment:
Horrible instructor. Only talks about the military, politics, and sports. Easily sidetracked. Reads the powerpoints without additional information. Relys of graphs and charts to "teach". Textbook is not used and only assists with 25% of class material.

He teaches a few different classes at the university. DO NOT take him for Managerial Accounting! I tried to teach myself the coursework which was a challenge (but more importantly not my job). Worst professor I have EVER had! Take my advice and avoid him at all cost for finance classes! If you're currently an accountant, then you will do well.

Scott has figured out the impossible task of making managerial accounting interesting. He links ma closely with operations (The Book, "THE GOAL", lies at the heart of the class)He is also FAIR - his exams test you on the topics he covers in class - this in itself

UGH! I'll cut the guy some slcak for to keep managerial accounting interesting, but his teaching tactics (or lack thereof) are unnecessarily complicated and leave me feeling as if I'm in kindergarten, not an MBA student.

Boring! His exams are terrible! He puts absolutely irrelevants questions. No curve either. Makes it difficult to get a good grade even if you work hard!
