Get ready to type up essays! Grades won't be on canvas or your paper. She'll write "good" or another comment but not a physical number to know how you're doing. The research paper and the midterm were the most strenuous. TEXTBOOK is crucial for the final; it was open book. She won't accept your paper unless you've got the correct MLA format.

Do not, I repeat, do NOT take this professor. She is extremely unorganized. Dates for assignments change daily which makes her syllabus obsolete. You won't know your grade, and I can only recall like 2 or 3 classes in which she went over actual English and didn't ramble on about something else. No laptop during lectures. Terrible class overall.

I 'll be honest. If you are a big fan of reading , I mean heavy reading, books to books, not just a few papers, you can take her. Otherwise, your works will never be enough. Also, if you have plenty of free time to do one assignment over and over, you can take her too. It's also really hard to understand her points. Can't handle her attitude too.

Very educated & passionate about social issues, but I do not recommend taking her class. She assigns a VERY heavy work load, and grades tough. For someone who put time & effort into the assignments, it was disappointing receiving low grades, due to her tough grading. She's unclear & disorganized. Getting an A, seemed impossible. I had to drop.

Prof Klander is a great instructor. You need to be interested to understand how her lecture goes. She takes her students as graduates and helps us think and place ourselves in real life situation.. she is also very hilarious. She loves class participation and attendance is mandatory. You need to work hard to earn your grades and extra credits.

Great professor she is highly knowledgeable and lectures are based around the -isms (classism, ageism, racism, sexism etc) I thought she was going to be a hard professor and so did many of my classmates because ALOT of them dropped her class. But she was fairly straightforward and approachable I received a B in the class

As some people have pointed out she is unorganized, but if you ask for clarification she is more than willing to clear things up. Gives good feedback on how to improve writing. This is college, so you'll have to earn your A. Take notes, read the essays, and do the extra credit assignments and you should be good.

Anyone who rated Professor Klander poorly is surely just lazy. Your willingness to expand your understanding will reflect your grade. This is college- she's there to teach and I didn't just leave with an A, I have new ideas. I am so grateful to her. IF YOU LIKE TO LEARN DONT HESITATE !

She is a very caring professor, but very unorganized! During her lectures, she goes off topic and just wander off. She only writes words on the board. I struggled so much, but thankfully I got a good grade in her class.

very tough grader and many assignments, careless professor ever meet. Though I did all the assignment repeat I got C. Grade depends on how much interaction you did not the hardworking. Her tests are confusing because she is confused herself.

AVOID HER AT ALL TIMES! She has zero organizations skills, ability to get students engaged. She wonders off too many times in her lectures and randomly yells at students for coming in 5 min late or for asking clarification on an assignment. Shes the type of professor to say they go by the syllabus but NEVER end sup following it, plus its unclear

She's a great woman obviously educated because she is a Dr, but the content in class is not engaging and lectures tend to wander making the note-taking process extremely difficult. Assignments are not clearly given and when questions are asked and not phrased to her liking she gets hostile.

What a lovely human being. Understanding, informative, and supremely helpful. The only people who don't enjoy her class are the ones who treat college like high school and want to put zero effort in their studies. She somehow has the patience to put up with people like that. I commend her. Overall, awesome!

Mrs. Klander in my opinion is an awesome teacher and her class is very easy to pass. I took her during the spring and she gave everyone As. Our last project was supposed to be an essay bu because there wasn't enough time, she made us do volunteer work and that was 20% of our grade. If you want an easy grade, then take her.

She would also get irritated with students when they ask questions about assignments that she doesnt cover clearly in her in her syllabus or orally . She is very unorganized. Took her for English II ( in connection to ethics/philosophy) & learned so much. She is a smart woman & will teach you about the world & how society works. I also took her again for intro to poetry. Participate in the lectures, she is a very good person & a great judge of character. One of the few inspiring professors at HCC!

Very unorganized lost half the class papers in Composition Eng fall 2013. Work is easy if u already have strong bkgrnd in Eng. Gave us extra cred to make up for it. Keeps changing her mind often when explaining assignment. I got an A. But only after I had pitty party bout her losing papers
