Worst professor I've ever had at Ohio State. His quizzes are impossibly difficult. Exams are 12 m.c. questions and 4 math questions for 150 points. Basically, you can't miss a question or you'll fail the exams. His lectures are equivalent to watching paint dry. The only way I learned anything was from reading the textbook, which has many pages.

This is by far the worst class, don't expect to learn anything. There is a semester project that is extremely outdated (like from the 90s!). The course is unorganized and assignment due dates are hard to keep up with. Check your grade on Carmen because he forgets to post grades (this is the second class I've had with him).

One of the best professors I've ever had. Took a year or two ago, graduated and I still use what I learned in that class today. It put me leaps and bounds above others.

His class is very unstructured. His exams that he gives have no real format either and the material covered on it was always a mystery. Sometimes he would cover past material even though the tests were not cumulative.

Sherman is a super nice guy, responds to emails very quickly and is thorough when he responds. However, this class was very difficult. It was online, and the quizzesexams are very tough and worded very confusingly. There was a change in the book and the quizzes were old and did not match up with direct information which made it hard.

Great Professor! Very helpful, very nice, and very knowledgeable about anything in finance. Do not expect an easy A class, but it is so easy to get good grade as long as you read textbook, do hw, and ask questions.

I cannot believe he is still employed. Worst professor, does not care and assignments are weekly take at least 4 hours to complete plus presentation plus finding a client who will talk to you and give you financial info weekly??? This is ridiculous.

If you expect an easy this is it, but you have to complete all the assignments ahead of time and not wait the last minute. The key to success in this class is following the course package and asking questions. You do that and you should get a good grade.

I really learned a lot from this class, especially in investment and retirement planning. It is not as hard as you think but just a little bit complicated. If you follow his steps, use your brain, be serious, and pay attention on the minor tricky points, you should be fine. BTW, I got an A.

Totally agree with previous review. Lectures are a waste of time and he talks more about CSFRM 660 in our class. His textbook contains more typos than a teenager's english essay. Avoid at all costs!!

All of the exam questions are from examples that he puts in the zip packet...but you NEED to buy his calculator (Texas Ins. BA II Plus). Trust me, I didn't do it until the final assignment and exam and it made life so much easier. It was only like $35 at Walmart and worth it. I bombed the first 2 exams w/ out it and got an A on the final.

This homework makes my eye lid twitch. Sherman Hanna, is rude, could care less about teaching at all, and I have never worked so hard to learn so little and do so terrible. Run! Run away if you can! I had to take this mess of class. Worst Professor I've had these whole 5 years.
