Comment:
Stanka is a very caring and sweet person, and shes actually a pretty good prof. Unfortunately her exams are terrible and she expects you to know every little detail and all of the studies mentioned in the textbook and in class. The textbook that were using also isnt student-friendly and wish she could give us more info on how to prep for exams.

Comment:
The material was dry and the text book is outdated. She gives no guidance for the midterms/exams and expects you to know every detail of the text book readings, lecture slides and articles (in which there is very little overlap). Her lectures are boring and she does very little to help her students succeed.

I think people on here really give Stanka a bad rep. She is a really kind professor, always available to answer questions after classduring office hours. Her exams are fair as long as you actually take the time to study properly. Her accent really isn't bad at all, I don't know why people are saying they can't understand her. Overall, a great prof

Fantastic professor. Even in a fairly large class, she still encouraged discussion. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Her course was not easy; probably the hardest psyc course I've taken at Queen's besides PSYC 100. However, it is definitely possible to do well if you put in the required effort.

Prof. Fitneva was really nice, and her classes were enjoyable. Her exams were fair, and the information was very interesting. There were two midterms and one final, all which were easy if you studied from the lectures and the textbook.

Stanka is a fantastic prof! She presented the material very clearly, with many examples to illustrate her points. Her tests and exam were very fair, no trick questions!

I found Prof. Fitneva to be extremely good at explaining her concepts, and her notes were very comprehensive and easy to follow. The majority of the module test was from her notes rather than the textbook. Her test was by far the most fair of all of the other module quizzes thus far.

I loved Stanka! I was having a lot of trouble making it to psychology until her module. I found her interesting, caring, and organized.

She is much better than these ratings suggest. Yes she has an accent but she is very clear albeit a bit fast delivering lectures. She stayed for HALF an hour after EVERY lecture to help students in the nicest manner... the comment below is a complete lie. Her material can be hard and boring though.

OK she was hard to understand at times BUT she cared about us, had great lecture notes and explained the concepts well. I think the people who complain about her are just lazy and don't want to study or read the text. I thought her exam questions were fair.

Really not at all bad as everyone makes her out to be. Child development is fascinating and she appears dedicated and willing to help as much as she can to make it appealing to everyone. Plenty of videos.

Frustrating. Very, very frustraing. Unclear in the presentation of issues, dull, seemed to always want to rush out of lectures. (You can understand why her WEB CT section has nearly twice as many questions as the other sections)

I was really impressed, and think that last year's comments were overly harsh, or she's really improved. She was really good. Her accent isn't that hard to understand at all, and she tries very hard to accommodate everyone and takes people's suggestions to heart. She's a good prof!

I know she gets a bad rep for psyc 100 but she was fantastic for this class! Don't let 100 discourage you from taking the upper year courses with her, she's a great prof.

Judging by what I'd heard from the year before's class, I thought she was amazing. She took all criticism from last year and tried to improve, with some success. Gotta give her kudos for that, most terrible profs don't give a damn what others think!! One or 2 bad exam q's though.
