She is a fantastic lecturer! I had a hard time hearing her small voice, but she normally did a fantastic job following the text book (in every class I had with her) and knowing the material herself so that she was able to teach it better. You have to read the book to do well. She focuses on the big picture for tests.

Dr. Aamodt definitely helped make my first semester easier, however, I am not a big fan of freshman seminar classes. I'm not a fan of busy work and there was a lot of that but it was an easy A.

Comment:

I took her as an undergrad and grad student. She is actually very knowledgeable. Shell tell you what to study. She does rely a lot on slides, but to me thats a good thing because you know exactly what to study. Her tests are fair; no surprises. There is usually a hw grade which helps. She is also nice and approachable, which is always a plus.

She is a very caring teacher, but she is definitely all over the place. Her test are pretty much the study guide and you have 5 point quizzes weekly. I took her for a summer course and it really was not bad.

She's a great teacher. Her tests are not extremely hard, but you do have to put forth some effort into studying. Goes off of powerpoints and the book isn't really needed. Definitely taking her again.

I LOVE her. She doesn't make you come to class, but gives extra points when you do and you participate. I like that she doesn't try to hold my hand through everything . I kept up with my work (read and study) and I made an A. I didn't even need that bulky expensive book. Just followed the pps and online supplement.

Dr. Aamodt is very intelligent, and seems to love what she does. She likes to introduce students to things related to biology that might interest them, such as the 23andme project. I liked taking her class. She always answers questions if you have any, and is pretty clear on her expectations.

Had her for different level courses. She's better in higher level courses, but she still isn't great. She relies heavily on power point slides, gets lost in an explanation if asked a question most of the time you don't get the answer you were looking for, and she is monotonous and absent-minded in the presentation of the material. Self-teach.

I did bio 120 online. Way better than taking it in the class. You absolutely need the book. but the major exams come from the quizzes. Highly recommend this class

very easy. however, don't assume FS tests are self explanatory. study the quizzes and you're good. its all memorization. she's very helpful. especially if your quizzes mess up

I had heard so many amazing things about Dr. Aamodt and looked foward to taking this class, but all the good stuff I heard was not true. ALways late, scatter brain, very vague about what is on the tests, seems to always be pre occupied. She is very smart and nice, but I expected more. Take her for lower level classes only!!

I now think very highly of Dr. Aamodt and look forward to having her in the future. Her class was not difficult (given this particular subject) and she tried as best she could to let you know what she expects - although it didn't come out clearly too often. She goes above and beyond for you, just ask for her help. She is great!

Dr. Aamodt did a great job in teaching the class. She made what she wanted for assignments known. The midterm was probably the hardest part of the entire class. This a group work class, so you HAVE to put in your part in order to get a good grade, otherwise it's time wasted for you and your group. I'd recommend taking Dr. Aamodt for any class.

BIOS 321 is Immunology. Dr. Aamodt was great. Her tests were a little bit tricky because most of the material came straight from the book, but all of it was clarified in lecture. Going to class really helped me. Also, Immuno Lab was hugely helpful in my other classes such as Cell and Biochem.

Comment:

Dr. Aamodt's Bios210 is basically a group effort which can be good or bad depending on your group. Overall, the class really teaches you about scientific papers, etc. It can be difficult if you don't participate or ask questions. It is definitely an A class is your willing to work for it. The midterm is scary but do-able! Take it with her and group up with responsible people and your sure to do well. Also go to class...usually always has groupwork for grade, annoying to make up alone.
