I've taken two classes with Weinberger so far and really enjoyed them both. He definitely knows the material and is approachable outside of class if you need any help.

Comment:

His lectures are interesting in content,but that is it. He just talks for the entire time occasionally writing a word on the board. There was no PowerPoint or visual. Essentially every lecture was just an hour and half of furiously writing down his speech. However, he is passionate and super nice. He cares about the course and the students.

Doesn't deviate from his pattern of lecturing, but that's what happens in history! He's obviously very passionate and does his best to answer questions. He has a sense of humor. His exams are take home essays that are generally very broad, but it seems like he wants something very specific and is a tough grader.

Great professor. I would highly recommend taking a course with him. He does give a lot of papers but they are short. He grades on ability to back up arguments regardless of the writer's opinion. He is very helpful if you go to him for office hours.

This Professor was aweful. Not only was his class extremely boring, but he graded very unfairly. When I went to see him about the comments he made on my paper to tell him they were incorrect, he changed my grade from a D to a C.

Weinberger is set in his ways, but he is also willing to look in new ways if you actually have the guts to argue the point. Also, it is a history class kiddos; you will learn history largely by reading and lectures. Get used to it. He is actually entertaining.
