Gardner is a great professor. One of the best. She is extremely knowledgeable. She is a tough teacher and a theorist to the core but she grades fairly and really wants her students to succeed and learn. If you have the opportunity to have her as a professor seize it! You won't regret it!

Dr. Gardner is amazing! Her lectures are crystal clear and you will learn a ton of physics from her. Take her for whatever you can.

Very compete coverage of the material. In general if youre a student that does not like to learn then dont take her class. If you are interested in physics and really getting information on the details Gardner is for you.

Comment:

Didn't learn a thing from her class. She taught all theory and no application. Finally figured out in PHY 241, when I actually had a good teacher, how to derive formulas and use equations to actually solve problems.

Some students did some computations, and gathered that Gardener can sometimes say the word "mm kay" (or mmk) over 1000 times in a 50 minute class. If you have her in class you'll quickly see what I mean- also look out for "canonical".

Hardest class I've EVER taken. The curve in that class is insanely huge. Gardner's not a good teacher at all, but the curve makes up for it, so if you have to take PHY 231, take her. You won't learn a thing, but you'll get a good grade.
