Professor Hess really cares about her students, and that we all achieve our goals. She's always there for others. Also, she made class fun. Discussions to prep us for our essays, class sharing story days (complete with apple cider and cookies). The class was super interesting. Wonderful professor.

Professor Hess is incredibly nice. She really helped me to improve my writing and is the reason why I became a WRRH major. She is interesting and ridiculously smart. She knows a lot about many different areas and if you meet with her outside of class, she is very helpful. I highly recommend taking a class with her.

She is a really good teacher. Even though you have to do analyse a lot of newspaper articles, you figure out that its quite helpful. lot of work but she is realy helpful and understanding. def take her class.

She is a great professor. She's so helpful and understanding. You can talk to her about anything and she'll help you through it. She really helped me become interested in the writing program here. She tells it like it is and while there is a lot of busy work in her class, it's not hard if you do the work.

I had her for my first year seminar. i hated it. she made us go on 11 hour feild trips.... ON SATURDAY. who does that? But even though i thought i did nothing above a C i got a B- so she is generous.

Really kool, really smart, down to earth no **** woman. Awesome at explaining stuff. Very interesting and active class. The best professor I've had so far. She really cares about the students and their progress.

Absolutely wonderful teacher, though politically bias, she's willing to debate if you have a coherent enough argument to present. I'd suggest that everyone take this course early on, the more you put in the more you'll get out! She's also ALWAYS availible for out of classroom help.
