Comment:

I was an English major when I took her course and directly after this course I changed my major. Especially if you are in honors, she will make you meet with her to write papers outside of class that no one else is assigned. She didn't grade or read these papers either. Everything I knew about writing? threw it out the window. Learned alot though.

Comment:

I took Dr. Stabile's graduate course in nonfiction in the Spring of 2018 and found the readings to be inspirational to those interested in creative writing. She gives A LOT of invaluable feedback on written assignments--she helped me become a better writer via her feedback and high expectations. The curriculum she designed for us was a work of art.

Her "reviews" are a cluster of words in neon letters jumbled together in a weird font. Thats it. SO unhelpful.

She was not organized, would notify us of assignments at 10pm the day before its due in class. Her reviews are terrible theyre just wordles where she has a bunch of words you need to know jumbled together in neon lettering and in a font you cant read. Has you destroy the expensive books you paid for as an "Art" project, tests are all written.

She was so sarcastic and made subtle insults to students and then would laugh about it. Take notes over her lecture word for word or she takes off points in the test if it's not exactly what she said. 2 written exams, a project where you destroy a $30 book, and other dumb projects. Very rude professor, avoid at all costs!

I had the pleasure of being in Dr. Stabile's class in 2001 and 2002. She was by far the most inspirational professor I had while attending Texas A&M. To this day, I think about topics/points/stories she brought up in class. She changed the way I look at the world; in turn, changing the way I learn.

Dr. Stabile was by far one of my favorite teachers, but she is so tough. If you are planning on going to grad school, do yourself a favor and learn from this lady. Nothing will ever be as hard and you'll learn so much from her. She does allow for multiple corrections to papers and is always willing to help. I would take her for a challenge!!

Dr.Stabile's class was challenging for me at first because I was a freshmen in a 300 level class. She is a great and helpful prof. Class was challenging but very rewarding. She makes her students think for themselves unlike teachers in high school. Highly recommend her.
