absolutely love her. i respect this woman so much. before taking this class, i didn't believe there was as an expansive of a realm of different approaches to writing and understanding literature. i thought i had hit a dead end in my literary career. she made me want to be an english

Mintz is great! Her teaching style is meant to gain as much out of you with each assignment and paper to then build open your strengths while ridding you of as many weaknesses as possible. Use her office hours, and if those don't work, make appointments. She IS your best resource. Use her wisely. You'll get better grades if you do.

Comment:

Mintz is hands-down the best professor I have had at Skidmore. She's sharp, serious, but also has a good sense of humor. Take any class with her even (and especially) if the subject material doesn't pique your interest beforehand. She will blow your mind, whether she's teaching you about seventeenth-century poetry or women with disabilities.

Mintz is brilliant, which is intimidating at first, because everything she says is so interesting and engaging. But soon you learn she is also hilarious and very helpful. She's not pretentious in the least, just knowledgeable. You'll remember the stuff she says for the rest of your life. She inspires the class to be its best without overworking

Mintz is the best professor I've ever had, hands down. I wish she was still teaching at SJU. I would take any class she taught. I use her questioning techniques with my students ...the stare has great power.

Professor Mintz is one of the only professors at Skidmore to actually challenge me. I appreciated her honesty and willingness to help, it made me a better writer. She is incredibly bright and truly loves her subject. I now have a greater appreciation/interest for/in contemp. female poetry. loved her class, great professor!

she is amazingly intelligent...i love hearing her speak. she's a great professor, really encouraging. a lot of emphasis on thinking and ideas, her class isn't about exams, its more about developing a thought process. i love her and her class, you'll gain a lot from interacting with her.

She was mean! And she hated out class and was out to get it. She didn't help and as many times as I would rewrite papers to fit her very unclear guidelines, my grades never changed for the better. I do not recommend her as a professor by any means.
