If you do the homework you will be fine. He doesn't throw any curve balls. However, if you are struggling, SPEAK UP! and he will work out the problems for you. There are multiple "pop" quizzes along with 3 exams and a final.

Amazing professor!! Will definitely take again. You need to do the homework to pass. Tests are straightforward. He won't test you on anything you haven't covered. Always there to help. Expect a lot of short, unannounced quizzes. Adds humor to his lectures.

Dye is a great teacher. He explains his lectures very clearly and has a little humor added into them. With any math class, expect a fair amount of homework, but not any unusual amount. Many students failed his class; however, i though he was great and received and A.

Horrible class, he has no structure. Only shows one or two problems from a section and moves on to the next without even telling you. He gets a little frustrated if you ask questions when you don't get it and tells you to go to the LRC. Avoid taking him unless your good at math. He doesn't take the time to explain each step.

Great sense of humor. Go to lectures and pay attention. Do the homework and u will pass. Quizzes and test very straight forward. No trick questions. For every 5 quizzes he drops lowest one. Lowest test score dropped.

I have mixed feelings on this class. If you are good at math you should be okay. He only shows one problem out of book as an example, then moves on to next section, you pretty much teach yourself the material out of the book and then come in and ask him questions if you have any. Dont be fooled by rating, hard class. Take someone else if you can

Paul Dye takes time to explain every step. He teaches very well. However the material is something you cannot BS through. DO THE HOMEWORK. Side note: He sounds like Mr.Rogers. I sat in the VERY FRONT and tried to pay attention, but his SOOTHING AND CALM VOICE lulled me to sleep EVERY DAMN CLASS... still passed with a B :)

Seriously one the funniest professors I had in a dorky kind of way. He's a great teacher and is helpful. Class can get tedious and he doesn't have a structure lectures but as long as you go to class and write down all his notes you should do well. 10 quizzes, lowest one gets dropped and 4 test + a final which can make up for lowest test you had.

Prof. Dye is a great teacher; he's funny and clear about the material. I would take him all the way through calc if he offered those classes. There are 10 quizzes, 2 are dropped. The lowest exam grade is replaced by with the final grade if you score higher on the final than you did on the exam. I would recommend him to other students.

Prof. Dye is the best teacher I have had at Saddleback to date. He is extremely helpful, spending as much time as needed to make sure everyone has their questions answered. He is VERY knowledgeable in the area of Mathematics. He will trivialize complex subject matter making it easier to understand and less intimidating. Highly Recommended!

Prof. Dye is one of the absolute nicest teachers you will probably ever have. He is very dedicated to being a teacher(he has tests graded by the next day). I often had to stay an hour or so longer in order to finish my tests and he was quite happy to stay! Even though the class is a lot of content to cover in 2 months, Dye spends a lot of time each class to thoroughly explain everything. The material isn't the easiest, but he makes it bearable. 4 midterms+final, about 13 quizzes, HW req

Seriously such a great teacher!! Hes a funny guy took his summer class which was hard but i mean its supposed to be its Calc. Would recommend him to anyone! One of the best math classes ive taken.

Really nice guy but his lectures are hard to get through. It seemed like he would discuss one equation for about a quarter of the class. I was able to get through it with a B, attending about half the class meetings. 5 exams which are pretty simple and he gives quizzes at the end of class when there is time. The final is about 40 ?'s. If you study the 5 exams from the semester you'll pass with no problem.

Very clear and nice with a good sense of humor. The class is CALCULUS. Which means you have to study and do your homework every day. Professor Dye is an amazing teacher and his tests are not hard. Take him if you actually want to understand math easilly and get a good grade.
