Whitlock has by far been the most difficult professor Ive dealt with. Her class is so confusing. Each day you enter the class not knowing what to expect, what is due, etc. I learned nothing in HIS 301 even close to what the class was described to accomplish. All coming from an A student in the class. This class is prime breeding ground for anxiety

Tammy Whitlock is a sweet lady who clearly has a passion for history. she does take a long time to get test grades back, but she is an easy grader. she definitely plays favorites and likes those who participate in class more. you can use a front and back page of paper as a cheat sheet on the exams, and gives you the essay questions in advance

Did not care for this class at all. The amount of homework(mostly reading) was ridiculous for an intro level history course, really any course for that matter. It is unorganized and hard to find assignments also.

I enjoyed Dr. Whitlocks class. The class is a little unorganized but its not so bad that you cant figure out whats going on. Overall the class was pretty interesting and one of the better classes Ive taken at UK.

She is crazy. Makes an assigned seating chart for a class with 150+ students. Obsessed with trying to prove that college is so much different than high school.

I absolutely love Professor Whitlock. Every single second that she's lecturing, she's having a great time. She just loves sharing what she knows with us! That being said, she had us get two books, Kramer and Cunliffe. Kramer we used a lot. Cunliffe I never touched. She gives cheat sheets and if you have an A by the final you don't have to take it!

There are so many harsh, negative things I would like to say about this woman, but I will hold myself back from doing so. This person is the most confusing teacher/professor I have ever had. She is so unorganized and not specific at all. I would never recommend this class to anyone. She is nice, I'll give her that, but that's it. Worst class ever

This class is a lot of busy work, you have to watch online lectures as well as attend face-to-face lectures. Her lectures are also all over the place and the powerpoints almost never make any sense. Very nice lady and she has her own kind of sense of humor. Overall, the class isn't great but she means well.

I've had Dr. Whitlock in multiple courses. She is a subject matter expert with a great sense of humor that flies by many in her class. She is tech savvy and always willing to try something new.

Whitlock isn't the important; it's the TA you're given. But the class honestly is not that hard. You can use a "cheat sheet" for all exams and that is a one-way ticket to pass, people. The dissertation can be hard and does require reading and pop quizzes, etc. Hefty paper at the end of semester. Plenty of extra credit opportunities.

AWFUL. She is completely unorganized & nothing about her course makes sense. I am in the process of dropping her class because I simply cannot handle it. As someone that enjoys history Whitlock is ineffective & useless as a professor. I never bought the books & made a B on the 1st exam. I hate that her course is required for my major. :(

Tammy is strange to say the very least. As far as her "teaching" goes she is very hard to follow and the structure of the class is very confusing. She still hasn't put in my extra credit assignment that I completed 2 months ago. She doesn't respond to emails at all. Would never recommend this class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS unless it's mandatory.

I'm a history major, so I might be a bit partial, but I thought she was great. She's a little scatterbrained, but honestly she's super nice and super helpful and is really passionate about her subject. Talk to her some one and one , it helps a lot. Also, quick handing your notes will make life a lot easier. The grading is pretty fair, too.

Dr. Whitlock is nice and helpful if you ask her for help. With that said, i wouldn't take the class again. The content was very interesting (think about French Revolution -WW2-Cold War) but her lectures weren't inspiring. For TAs, i would reccomend Gressang. Her discussions were engaging. Remember to read your materials and engage in discussion.
