She grades discussion posts very hard but all exams are on quizlet. if you try on the discussions and quizlet the tests you should get an A no problem. THIS CLASS IS AN EASY A, please spare yourself and take her online for a blissful semester.

Avoid her class! Goes on tangents talking about NOTHING useful/relevant. Class is an easy point builder class which is the only reason I got through it. You have 15 discussion posts only 13 count. 3 easy papers that are useless and extra credit with 2 exams. If you know how to get by in point based classes its fine but you don't learn anything

Have to complete 16 small writing assignments (only 300 words) and 3 tests. tests are pretty heavy, I only ever got B's and that is with over 4 hours of studying. However, the study guide is helpful. The teacher's assistant who grades is pretty ruthless though. Madden is very nice and funny though. Her humor makes soc easy to understand.

Do not take Prof Madden!! Her lectures are boring and not helpful at all. You have two posts due every week, three exams, and three other projects in between that are easy. Her exams are super hard you really need to understand the information/theories in order to pass. She talks about everything BUT the important information needed for the exams

She's a nice person and has too many students. Class lectures can be long, confusing, and goes on tangents A LOT. If you want to pass you may need to see her at her office hours which are incredibly busy, having a huge line outside her door. Tests are worth a lot and are tricky and you have to think like her on some of the questions, and not logical

I took her class last fall 2017, she is OK and not a difficult teacher at all. Do her canvas discussions and the short papers you are good to go. However, her midterm was tough but she is nice enough to work with the entire class to not losing the grade point average. The class is super easy!!!

There were 3 larger assignments that could be easy is just depends like a 2 page essay, collage, and survey type of thing. 3 tests STUDY for the test I got a 68 on 1st test 68 on 2nd 78 on last didnt do one large assignment and still passed. Overall shes between okay and good

DONT take this prof.! Especially if you're a sociology major! She is just awful she goes on tangents about everything BUT the content of the chapters. She makes you read long articles 2 a week to reflect the subject manner to yourself (pointless) but I guess you could say it adds up easy points for your grade but she's the worst prof I've EVER had

The subject matter of this class was great but the teacher is HORRIBLE! Her lectures are AWFUL they are super frustrating because you can't follow the topic she's talking about because she literally just starts rambling without context or a powerpoint. We never get through anything with relevance in any class! To many reflections twice a week

Honestly do not take this professor. I'm an A student and she is the reason why I don't have a perfect GPA right now. She gets sidetracked EVERY TIME. Doesn't even acknowledge the fact that you're sitting in front of her during her office hours. Take someone else.

She assigns too much hw which is article analysis. She grades very harshly on exams which means its hard to pass the class. He is very off topic about her personal life and not very organized with her lectures. I can't even tell what chapter is what she is talking about. She gives group quizzes. I would rather take online or another professor.

This class taught me a lot! She is a great professor who is passionate about what she lectures. Her class consists of three exams, two article analysis papers, and a couple of short assignment. To pass the exams, STUDY!! They are not hard, they just require lots of studying.

AWFUL! She is the toughest grader ever. Her tests are based on her sociological thinking and no one else. There is basically no right or wrong answer. Its what she decides is right or wrong. We had article analysis reading each chapter each week. We had 3 exams then final. Do not take her.

I miss this class, it gave me a new prospective on the world. This professor is amazing! She is passionate and carries an optimistic prospective in discussions, but can also be very sarcastic and blunt at the same time. Reading the book really helps in passing tests and studying is a must. She can go a bit off topic, but is always intriguing.

This class wasn't difficult, however; the tests are hard. Midterm and final both are a significant percent of your grade 33 and some change percent, so together they end up being 67% of your grade. 8 online discussions that are super easy and 1 research paper, that is also super easy. Study for the exams and you will have an easy A.

All your grade is based on is 3 chapter tests from the book, two of 7 article analysis. Took her class with 149 other people, she got side tracked EAISLY, all she talks about mainly is theories and gives examples, and thats it, don't recommend for you to take. Awful.

Professor Madden is a great lecturer who is very knowledgeable but often gets sidetracked. There are only three exams that are taken straight from the textbook and can be passed easily if you pay attention and review. The assignments are few and there is almost no homework other than reading. She is extremely funny and relatable as well.
