Went in to his class quite intimidating, however; he got me out of my comfort zone and made me engage in class. Normally this would make me upset, but he talked to you like a friend and not a student. If you show up regularly, he will know your name and is the best professor I have had to date. Strongly recommend him as a professor!

I came in thinking I'd learn something but I've learnt barely anything. Too vague on assignments and expectations. Makes slides and then retracts them. Doesn't give fair marks. Doesn't care about students. Would NEVER recommend this class unless you're looking for a GPA drop. The most unsettling class I've ever taken in my life.

To me he was kind of non-approachable? The environment and atmosphere he put out was not my favourite as it felt like he was picking on people sometimes. He seems really knowledgeable and he really wants class engagement so definitely speak up cus he loves it. Assignments seem easy but are super vague, ask him for help on those if you need it.

I took his class on theories of crime at Laurier. Theory can be dry, however, Terry made sure every class was a learning experience and would ask questions that would make us think to get our brains turning. By far the best prof I have ever had, he made it easy and fun to listen to his lectures.

Terry is a solid guy who is an advocate against today's learning system. He tries to reach students on a personal level with his teachings and really cares about the bigger picture which is whether you find value in what he's teaching or not. For the most part, read the slides, jot useful notes down and you'll do stellar in his course. Amazing guy.

An amazing, insightful, inspiring professor. Refreshing & engaging. If you're looking for a bird course, this isn't it. If you are looking to increase your knowledge, engage in critical thought, expand your horizons & come out a bit better than you started, this is it. Show up to class, read the textbook, take notes (be a student) & you'll do great

This professor was very open and you have to go to his class to understand the lecture, but the textbook saved me! If you want to take his class, you have to read the textbook for this particular course (which is a lot of pages). But he doesnt put up the PowerPoints which is unfortunate! So you cant skip his class!

Professor Terry was my favourite teacher at Ryerson. He was very engaging and explained the content with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. It was really obvious that he was passionate about the subject and helped me to think critically. Definitely pay attention in classes and contribute to discussions to get the full experience.

I don't know if it's because it was a summer course or if he really wasn't into my class but he was very passive aggressive. Likes to make people anxious. I really didn't enjoy his style of teaching. Power points that he runs through/has favourites & groups them together/kicked everyone out once cause he was mad we didn't read a chapter... DON'T!!

Terry is the most inspirational prof I ever encountered. I was fortunate to have some of his time. He challenged me to practice critical thinking. Lectures give more than what textbook offers. Approachable, respectful with amazing humour in lectures. I would highly suggest taking his class if you are interested in being engaged!

Dr. Terry is an inspirational prof who wants you to leave his course having learned something. He is a very approachable and knowledgable Criminologist. The course content and structure are designed to make you a better citizen, and more aware of the issues plaguing Canadian society. Buckle up, show up, and you will have no problems.

His class was based mostly on the textbook. We had only presentations after the first 4 weeks. If you don't speak in his class, he assumes you're uninterested or didn't do the readings. But if you talk to him, I'm assuming you would have a different experience with the class. If you're interested in the course, the text book is engaging.

There are a lot of group presentations! Make sure you pay attention to those and take notes. The textbook is very important; do read! He will go out of his way to really push you to learn and think. Take the initiative to learn and he will reward you. Wanna skip? It'll be much harder.

FANTASTIC! He has really high expectations; expects the students to come to class ready to engage. If you do the readings, and go to class you'll be fine. He does not post his slides, so you shouldn't skip his class; that's his strategy to penalize those that skip and reward those that attend the lectures. Goes out of his way to help students.
