Tom is the bomb. Hilarious, engaging lectures. He's a tough grader, but his feedback greatly improves your writing. Very friendly, and super approachable outside of class. On the last day, he brought cake to class and took a selfie with us. There's a relaxed classroom atmosphere. He truly cares about students and I'll miss taking classes with him.

Prof. Prendergast is the funniest person I have ever met. The class was super interesting and his jokes made it even better. Even though I'm not an English person I wanna take another class with him cause he's just too funny. What a man. He's a real gem.

Comment:

Amazing professor that really knows his stuff about Medieval literature. Can pick out more subtext in Chaucer than anyone I've ever known, and will equate things to popular culture to make it easier to understand things. Papers can be a little hard if you don't take them seriously.

Phallic Tom!!! I love this guy, even though he always ripped my papers to shreds. Very funny, charismatic guy who really connects with his students. Highly recommended.

Prendergast is God. I've had him for a few classes now and will continue to take his classes even though, unfortunately, I don't really care about his subjects. His classes seem really hard at first but as long as you write down exactly what he says you'll do fine on tests. His papers are intense, though.

Class discussions were phenomenal. The subject matter was sometimes a bit difficult for me, he prefers older literature than I'm accustomed to (canterbury tales, etc) but if you like mideaval stuff he's fantastic.

One of my favourite professors in the English department, I was sad to see him go on sabbatical. Prendy connects well with his students. He made us t-shirts at the end of our semester together that said "Frankenstein is more than a good read": one of many inside jokes our class of 8 students shared. Can't wait to have him again.

Great and down-to-earth. Meetings with him were great. He has an awesome sense of humor--its even better one-on-one. He'll point out good things to research. He tells it to you straight. Have to push yourself to stay on top of writing, though.
