He had very interesting lectures. Only thing I did not like one bit was that he did not give a study guide so you had to memorize the entire book. He is a nice person unless you disrespect him or show up late to class. I was in his last semester though because he is now retiring. He has major health problems unfortunately. he taught me a lot.

Very hard. I liked his lectures but he tends to repeat much of the stuff. Very strict on attendance, if you are late (even 1 minute) you will be kicked out of class plus it counts as an absence and once you have 3 absences you are dropped. Test are short but hard, he gives no study guide. If you want to pass make sure you know the book.Good luck!

Shey's lectures are useful when it comes to quizzes, tests and the paper. You need to able to remember the whole book for the final and read the chapter for a pop quiz. I would recommend NOT taking this class.

great guy but I highly recommend do not take him!!!! his lectures is very boring, and he gives no study guide for any of the tests. The tests are hard you'll have to remember what you read in all the chapters. also do not be late he dropped people for being late even on the first day.don't have your phone out neither he will drop you like he did me

If you are a procastinator and come to class late don't like to read,this is not your instructor. He is very knowlegeable of his lecture, has a great sense of humour all you have to do is read in advace before lecture i learn a lot from this Instructor he is Very helpful. Shey's class is one of my favorites. You need to have a sense of humor when taking his class. His stories are interesting and they go right along with what's being talked about in the book. The only bad thing is he gives no study guides and the tests are hard. I highly recommend taking his class.

Okay ALWAYS ALWAYS be on time!!! If you are one minute late he gets upset and he will embarrass you in front of the class. You must bring your textbook to every class he does random checks. 3 tests NO study guide and one 2 page paper (optional) I liked his lectures but he does get repetitive after a while. He can be RUDE!

He's is something else. He is sweet at times. You read a lot. He does pop quizzes & picks random people but by the end he does it ABC order. His test are just different. His textures are confusing & honestly I have no idea how people can pass his class.

Really great professor. He has a sense of humor and has had many experiences in the field he is teaching. He is one of those old school professors so don't expect him to be "easy" like the younger ones. Pay attention to lecture, taking notes is a must. Read the journal and text book and you WILL do FINE. People who complaint of him don't do work.

I'm surprised the ratings were not higher. He was absolutely great for my Intro to Mass Communications class. Super fun, easy, very friendly, and helpful. However, I put 100% into the class and showed up almost everyday, I missed like 2 days. So as long as you're a good student, you should have a learning experience.

yes he is tough and scary at first but he is a good teacher. has a pretty good sense of humor. if you do all the readings and study hard you can definitly pass but the tests are crazy hard. i wouldnt reccomend him if your looking for an easy A. overall good teacher.

Mr. Shey is a good teache. He is hard but you have to do all the readings in both books or you will not pass both his midterms! He Doesnt give out hw or make you write papers thats what made the class much easier but the reading so kill you!! Overall he fun and his stories are grea!!

He is funny and a good person at heart he will repeat the same stories over and over week by week. His test are HARD! they're so random you won't know where it came from. Do not take him if you want an easy A he is a tough butt! try and avoid if you can

Everyone here is right, he is a jerk. If he didn't focus so much on trying to be funny & trying to embarrass everyone by their little mistakes & focused more on, oh i don't know, SOCIOLOGY then it might be okay. If you don't have the temperament to deal with rude, disrespectful teachers..never ever take him. EVER.
