Its a shame to see this man retire. Best professor I've had yet. If he was coming back next semester I would take more classes with him and I'm not even a poli sci major.

You can skip class and still get an A. He doesn't take attendance and really doesn't care if you aren't there. The lectures are really boring but he emails you all of the notes so the tests are easy to study for. There are only 3 exams and they are all essays. He's funny and really old.

Tests are essays, and your entire grade is based on 3 tests. Class is pretty much optional. Easy A, even easier if you show up to class. Only thing I didn't like about him was that he would rant about conservatives in class sometimes, and state his opinion on issues instead of teaching. Oh, and whatever you do don't use your phone in class.

Super funny! Too bad he's retiring - I'd love to take more of his classes. Definitely made me enjoy my first semester of college.

Riley is such a wonderful professor! I love how he lectures. Better show up to class though because he writes on the board instead of using PowerPoint slides making it easy for you to listen and follow along in note taking; it is a bummer if you miss any class. Please do yourself & the rest of us a favor, do not play on your phone during lecture.

Awesome professor! Loves how he always remind students how old his generation is! Listen to his lectures and take great notes! Only essay for exams which are super easy if you take your time to take notes and study well! Shameful for students who text in his class: just skip if you wanna text and fail!

This class is all lecture so be prepared. He is very clear on what he is going to cover so there are no suprises. His exams are all written but not a problem. He's very funny, very knowledgeable, and very passionate. Don't talk to your partner or sit on your cell phone in this class. great lecturer would love to have him again.

He is an interesting professor. He does the best he can with the topics that he is given and tries to be very clear with objectives. There were three exams, all essay questions and a grand total of 300 points in the course. Pay attention, take notes and it is a fairly easy and straight forward class.

He's an extremely nice guy. You will have no homework, and only a couple essay style exams. If you're conservative politically, you definitely won't agree with some of his views, but it's a great class regardless.

Prof. Riley is a professor of a bygone era, and is loved and respected for it. He doesn't take attendance, but skip class at your own peril -- he will expect every note you take to be included in your take-home essays. He enjoys lecturing and has an obvious love for political history. He almost never expects input from his students during class.

He doesn't like when students are late or leave but, he is a great teacher. He can be hard to listen to at times but teaches you a lot and stays unbias and in a class like this that is very impressive.

Super nice professor. Wants everyone to pass, and will make sure that happens. I failed my first test, and he let me retake it. Lectures can be confusing but he sends out a guideline before the new topic and use those guidelines to study for the test. Tests are essays but they are pretty easy.

I have taken multiple classes with Dr. Riley and he is great. He is very clear about what you will be tested on and if you go to class and pay attention you will do very well on the tests. He is also really, really funny. He mumbles little funny comments and jokes and always has something funny to say at the beginning of class.

Dr. Riley is a nice guy, he listens to you. He writes notes on the chalkboard while talking, sometimes standing in front of them. I had a hard time following him, he would break off and start talking about something else in the same sentence. I think he is looking forward to retiring, and it shows.

The class was interesting, but he seemed very uninterested in helping students outside of class. He was really funny and knew what he was talking about, but if you try to stay after class and talk to him he just seems like he wants to leave. Besides that, he's a good professor.

My favorite professor so far. Tests are essay format and are the only things he grades, but he prepares you for those 3 tests very well. Sit close to the front if you have him in a lecture hall becuase he can be hard to hear someimes but the stuff he mumbles about is hilarious.
