Tim is a good guy but he is extremely biased and has clear favorites. He makes people who arent his favorites feel invisible and makes inappropriate feedback when unimpressed. Hes professional but his responses are not. If only he gave more of a chance to everyone and not just a few...

Comment:

Me being a filthy casual, I was a bit nervous going in to my first serious foray into choir, but he was welcoming, kind, and facilitated a positive environment. He's a pragmatic man who doesn't waste time, so if you don't understand a deep concept ask him outside of class, connect with a student, or look it up yourself. Unforgettably fun class!

Tim is an amazing conductor and so passionate about music. He gave us a fun and chill choir experience while still challenging us with tough music and interesting warm-ups.

Tim is so much fun as a conductor. He has a clear passion for the material he teaches and his sense of humor is surprisingly sharp for somebody his age! I'll definitely be taking him again.

Tim is always prepared and makes excellent use of class time - it's crazy what you can do in one day. Fun class, some music background helpful but you don't have to have choir experience. Funny guy. Would take this class again.

Mr. Tim is the best music educator I have ever had. He is so precise with the short 50 minutes he has with us so there is always singing happening. Never a second wasted with this guy. Love him, look up to him, and was totally inspired by him. On a rather unimportant note he resembles Tom Hanks. Looks, voice, attitude. The whole shabang.

Very good professor musically and as a director, but not as much socially. At times, when handling student issues, Tim can be unprofessional. There are a few times during the quarter when he exhibits strange mood swings, and says unnecessary and non-constructive things to the choir as a whole. You'll get an A if you attend, but it is stressful!

Tim is an excellent professor. He takes time to learn everyone's name and is very passionate about music. You are only graded on attendance. Easiest class I have ever taken. If you like music or like to sing, I strongly recommend this class.

I love to sing, but I won't be taking this class again. I like Tim, but his way of teaching is a little weird. He also can get really mean sometime, but he is usually pleasent. Just go to class and you'll get an A.

Took 2 quarters with Tim in the new U Choir: Women. Fall he was moody unpredictable and manipulative. Still enjoyed singing aspect so I tried again this quarter. SO MUCH BETTER! He was more consistent and focused. I don't know if he just had a bad fall or what. I would recommend the class to singers who are not ready for CC and want to get better.

Let me start with Mr./Ms."i've worked with some of the best directors in the country" Dude, you're in U-Choir, okay? Stop being so holier-than-thou and get off your high horse. Anyway, Tim is good. I like him. I'm not one of his favorite people, but I respect him and he knows his stuff.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY MY KIND RATING. Tim Fitzpatrick is one of the worst directors i have ever been under. He lacks the passion to care about the music - letting it become sloppy and not producing a polished product. Is he supportive/nice/a good guy? yes on all accounts. This is a take all ensemble and and an easy A. not for hardened musicians.

a good class overall I don't like the way he teaches. He doesn't work at all with blending. We meticulously picks through certain sections. While that is great, we rarely go the whole way through the piece until a couple of weeks before the concert. We also don’t get to sing with the guys until two or three weeks before the concert.

Tim is wonderful! If you get the chance to take a class from him DO IT. I have very rarely met a director so professional, and so caring to the needs of his students. He really treats you like an equal. Make sure you've got your music everyday, come prepared, and for all that is holy turn off your cell phones. I've known him for years...he's great!
