Comment:

This professor is the best you're going to get for biology. I do not recommend buying the textbook, I didn't use it one time. He only mentions to use it as "reference". Attendance is not mandatory, but I recommend going as often as possible. No homework, just studying. Tests are all multiple choice and the final can replace a lower grade.

I LOVED this guy. I took Bio101 in high school and it was difficult. Had to retake it in college, but he made it SO easy and SO interesting! His lecture notes are incredibly. Study those and his reviews and you will do great. His tests are super easy if you study those, too. He also "forgets" to take attendance sometimes.

I hate biology and found the material boring. Failed the first test but he let the Final take the place of a lowest grade as well count as the final. Went from an F to a B. Print off his study guide then add more notes to it!! Do Unit Reviews but DO NOT just study those! Everything on the huge study guide on is website will be on his exams!

Comment:

Great professor, truly one of the greats. Contrary to earlier stated observations, he does continue to take attendance every few classes, but he's very understanding and usually will help a student out if they need it. This course is very in depth. It will require lots of studying but he's an expert teacher. Plus his notes are better than the book.

Great teacher. He says you must attend but towards the middle of semester it's evident he no longer takes attendance. Tough but he basically gives you the test between the study guide and lecture notes. Print out a couple study guides and fill out over and over and you'll at least make a B.

Biology is not a class you can slack in, period. 101 was the time to play games, 102 gets serious. Study! STUDY STUDY STUDY! Don't make the mistake of not studying the study guide, studying your book, studying your notes. This teacher is the best you're going to get, but you need to study hard.

I decided to take him after reading all the good reviews people had given him. Big mistake. He's a cool guy, but the class was extremely hard. Yes, he has a study guide, it is ridiculously long, but managable. However, even though I would study for ATLEAST 10 hours per test, I only pulled C's as top grades for sometests. I was not very pleased.

Dr Reeves was completely fair and DID provide a study guide. It was on his web page, (like he said on day 1) and was 100 pages long. His test were not easy, but if you study you will do fine. He even gave a make up test at the end if you wanted to improve your grade.

Excellent professor. Knows his stuff! Provides study guides, and everything comes from those. Pay attention in class, and don't slack off in the lab b/c it accounts for 25%. Not a slack off class by any means, however he is always wiling to help. Really cool guy, too.

Took him for Biology 101, made a B, hard class but he gave study guides which helped.This semester took 102 , dropped it, he combined 2 sections together, did not provide study guides, tests were tricky, 22 students dropped his class so far. Took 2 tests - higest grade was a 67. The guy just changed so much....

Very good professor. His class is always fun and he has great jokes. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about Biology. Always willing to answer questions and explain on your terms. His test q's come from his study guide, so print it out and STUDY it. You'll do great. He's an awesome prof.

He is a very professor. His teaching strategy doesnt work the best for me but i was able to pass the tests and still believe i will end up with a B at least. Not so bad overall just makes you study for your grade, not an easy slack off class. Be prepared to study lots if you want to pass. GREAT TEACHER all around

Pretty cool. Really knows his stuff. Doesn't mind answering questions. He gives his tests via the testing center so you don't take them in class, but make sure you know when the last day to take it so you don't miss it.

LOVE HIM!! before taking this class i was uninterested in biology but now i love it! very helpful and funny. tests are exactly what are on the provided notes - just study! i will definitely take dr. reeves for all of my biology classes!

He is one of the best professors at tech. Very knowledgable and he has a youthful mindset and can talk to students like they are friends of his. Sometimes unclear about what will be on lab quizzes, and has a tendency to go off on tangents in class, but he will try to answer ANY question you have. Because of this he stresses studying outside class.

Great teacher. He pretty much test off his notes which he gives to you in a booklet. Test are multiple choice by the way. As for lab, well I hardly ever understood the concept of what I was doing and his quizes incorporate stuff from lecture. I still recommend his class, I'm taking Bio 102 with him.

He's a really great guy. Definetly the scatter brained professor type. He tends to come in late, and he's not the most organised. Labs are easy, and so are tests, if you actually study. It was a good bio course.
