Professor Phelps is amazing, very encouraging, caring and gives great feedback. He's very kind and understanding and with me being someone that doesn't enjoy reading, I surprisingly loved the material. He offers multiple opportunities for extra credit and his essay prompts are easy to understand. You won't regret taking his courses!

Responds to your questions within a day or less. A great source of encouragement and criticism with his straight forward feedback after each assignment. Even with assignments I didn't do so well on, he took the time to give me advice and to keep on going. Overall a chill guy, especially for an online professor. It felt like he was there in person.

You couldn't ask for a better feedback and very friendly approach of the professor, you fell very comfortable while doing the work. The professor makes the learning information be really appealing for this class, gives a fair amount of extra credit, and makes very involving the discussions, as well as interesting,

Phelps is a really good professor - I took his online Intro to Lit class and I really enjoyed it. Most of the heavier reading is toward the end of the semester. He makes a point to give amazing feedback on your papers and really takes the time to go over discussion posts. It made me feel motivated to continue his class.

The most amazing teacher ever. His essays are sick bc he provides thoughtful prompts lots of assigned reading BUT (tip) only do reading from the "best american essays" book (tip2)That is the only book you'll actually need for this class don't buy the other one (save $) also there are like no due dates except for essays. thoughtful caring man A+++++

Mr. Phelps is a great professor. You will receive a lot of readings from your textbooks but does not give assignments from the book. Participation in Blackboard, easy questions to answer. Midterm was an essay, and 3 or 4 essays. Gives extra credit and is nice. English is my first language, easy A.

Awesome Professor, I thought at first it was going to be a super hard class, but honestly there is not that many assignments. Just make sure you read what he tells you and you will pass the exams and the four essays expected are an easy A or B. He grades easy, more so concerned about you enjoying english than cramming something down your throat.

Phelps is an awesome teacher. My favorite part about his online class is the fact that there were only four papers to write and he gave us a lot of freedom when it came to writing the assignments. This allowed me to tap into my creative side and got me to fall in love with writing again. Instructions are very clear and he is very helpful

Prof. has a sense of humor. I was placed in 114 bc of incomplete testing during assessment and chose his class. Teacher is biased and is a bit stubborn. i dont like the vids he shows about 9/11. He shows one side of argument with phony people who claim they are proffessionals. I corrected him once in an essay and he never let it go. testd into 115.

Phelps was like a roller coaster. Facilitation of deep discussions and in depth analysis on the reading up until the midterm. After the midterm we did popcorn reading till the end of semester. But overall the class was really easy. Free response journal entries, 3 essays and 2 exams are all that is going to be turned in. Try and keep interested!
