Dr. Geurkov is extremely approachable for all of his students and he genuinely cares for their success. He'll meet you outside of his office hours to help you out. Extremely nice guy, if you put in even a reasonable amount of effort, he'll bless you.

He's a great professor and is easy to follow, but if you skip lectures you'll fall out of track and he'll be hard to understand. He doesn't write notes, instead he explains diagrams. He's a smart person who really knows his stuff, and accessible for exam corrections. Labs and exam were challenging, midterm was easy. Content's easy, textbook's great

Comment:

One of the best profs for COE 328. I had Reza for the summer prior, and I passed (with a D). However, with Guerkov, previous experience with labs and the trauma of Reza, it certainly helps a ton. Go to his lectures. Sit close. Ask questions if you don't understand anything. Always helpful, nice guy, and could totally teach COE 428 if possible.

If you do the labs, the tests are easy. His lecture notes are mostly VERY CLUTTERED diagrams, that are difficult to understand if you don't go to lectures. There's a few lectures where the content wasn't on any test (they were just for our info). Lectures are also boring, but despite that, he does a good job of explaining everything step by step.

Vadim is MUCH better in 538 than in 328. He teaches with greater clarity and his notes are more organized and less cluttered. Labs were hard, exams were OK, but requires you to go over the material. Compared to other professors, his grading is less strict. He once said, "in fact, I don't even believe in marking!" I will never forget that line.

He is very good at explaining individually, not to a class. His notes are very unclear (full of diagrams) and does not post his handwriting after class. Sometimes, when he explains certain concepts, he is very confusing. On the other hand, he is very nice. The labs however are BRUTAL!

He is extremely knowledgeable and cares for his students a lot. He is very humble and tries to find the best way to teach introductory concepts (no matter how abstract). However, I find Vadim to be too abstract and technical in his explanations. I think he should focus more on problem solving examples in class rather than just purely on theory.

Vadim is an amazing professor who can teach very well. Compared to others, he is relatively easy going. I will highly recommend going to his office if you are having trouble (even on the exam day). 8/10

Vadim has this innate ability to take the most difficult concept discussed in class and explain it in very simple terms. Not many people can do this. To be really successful, attend all his lectures, ask questions if you need help and read the textbook ahead of time. S

Amazing professor. His classical style of teaching actually makes sense and does not necessarily go topic by topic or chapter by chapter. This means he is more versatile and can include plenty of context to make the course interesting. Try to sit closer to the front because he can speak in a soft tone.

The professor is so talented and helpful. He inspires you to learn. His notes are helpful in finding your way in the wide literature. He makes tough things so easy and is always there to help you. Plus a very positive person. Course content is a lot but almost every word you learn adds something to your skills. The project i s much fun. Take it!

his notes isn't organized enough to help students to learn (USELESS). hard to understand his lecture. course wasn't organized well to help the student to learn. noway to study from the book. his lectures and the other prof lectures was 10(out of 300) people max attendance after the third week because no benefit at ALL. easy course if understood!!

Dr. Vadim is an amazing prof, an asset Ryerson have! He has given years to Ryerson more than i have lived! Experienced person. Lectures might get boring but if you understand than u won't need to reach textbook. Always welcomes students happily to his office hours and teaches well. Would take again. He always have a positive attitude.

Its hard to follow his lectures if you dont read his notes before attending class. Attendance in necessary if you wanna do well. Nice guy. He really wants you to take something away from his class, so don't be afraid to ask questions. Start early on labs, they take very long.

awesome teacher. really knows how to teach assembly language and is very patient with his students. for a 3rd year course he is the best teacher. would highly recommend him

To be honest, the course was one of the easiest in my opinion, and I rarely showed up to his lectures, but when I did show up to ask a question, he was very willing to take the time and explain. Would certainly take his classes in other courses.
