I found Dr. Cartwright to be very helpful throughout this course. There were people who struggled with the content. However, she was always responsive and adjusted based on student needs.

Disorganized, rarely showed up for class. Never responds to emails. Slow grading, poor feedback quality, I hope I do not end up in another of her classes. Does not know how to teach those NOT in K-12, which is half of the EdD population. AVOID HER. No textbook, no instructional materials. Couldn't even teach myself the material as a result.

She is very excited about her subject matter but it was confusing and not interesting at all to me!

Comment:
This is the professor that you want for this class. she goes overboard to support your learning. THough this's kind of a boring class: lots of PP's that where not designed by her. Plus it is very imbalanced class: you'll have lots of work to do towards the end of the class. Get started on the final project (the lit. review) early in the semester.

Professor Cartwright works really hard to make the material as paletable as possible and pauses class frequently to make sure everyone is understanding. She makes a very borign topic very easy to deal with.

Comment:
This class is all about critically looking at research at the graduate level: how to use it, looking for possible bias, etc. I didn't think I would make it through this class, but Dr. Cartwright did a great job of explaining an uninteresting topic. Pay attention because the class really picks up the second half.

I took Dr. Cartwright's course & found it difficult because the material was often boring (even with her trying to make it interesting.) Many times she went over things in differently. She would ask questions that made us think. Now that I am taking other classes, I'm glad I had hers first. What she taught is helping me a lot in my other courses.

Dr. Cartwright is a great person - just not the best teacher. Granted, the subject material is horrible. She uses powerpoints that are very wordy, and then just says it over again. She'll confuse you at every turn, saying things in different ways. Her assignments are truly busy work. Good lady, but I should have stuck with the other class.

She tried her best to make a boring subject interesting. She is nice and helpful. She answers all questions. The course was very time consuming during the last half of the course. I learned a lot about reseach.

THIS CLASS is the longest three hours of my week. Powerpoints and very little interactive activity. She will give an assignment, and AFTER you turn it in, she teaches you how to do it! After an entire semester in this class, all I learned was how to do a citation. Worse grad class I have taken. Take this class with Dr. Witta or Sivo instead.

I have to admit that I was not looking forward to this class as it was required. However, Dr. Cartwright did a great job of teaching our class. She made educational research relevant and meaningful. It was not an easy class by the nature of the curriculum requirements. I am glad I took Dr. Cartwright.
