I loved CUST 1500 and Victoria so much! I found many people weren't very fond of the class because people had a hard time hearing her so I recommend sitting first row and being an engaged learner. She is a lovely caring person. There are only 3 major assignments in the course and no mid-term or exam. Lectures can be long but are interesting content

Comment:

Victoria is an absolutely lovely woman! I enjoyed coming to her class every week, and the material she chose to cover was extremely interesting and relevant. While the material may be difficult to grasp at first, she makes it perfectly clear.

The content she chooses is interesting but she speaks in circles and often changes the definitions/understandings to well-known concepts to her own liking (which doesn't make what she's saying actually true). She expects you to know exactly what answer she has in her head without actually teaching you what exactly it is she expects you to know.

I had no idea what I was doing registering for first year courses and figured this course would be a peak of interest but many of the slides by the Prof. seem to be long quotes that she rambles on pointlessly and DOES NOT connect to the course content. Seminars are your life in this course

She's a terrible lecturer but the course itself is interesting which was enough to maintain my interest. She isn't a very good seminar leader either, she's arrogant and patronizing.

She is a terrible prof. I have debated several times dropping cultural studies. She is completely incomprehensible and speaks in circles. I went to lecture 5 times (less than once a month) the times i went she was talking about the same thing when i had last been there. Very pretentious and extremely patronizing.

Victoria seemed as if she was extremely knowledgable and learned in this subject, but it was not conveyed well from her to her students, she just was not very interesting. and in response to an earlier post, yes James came off as arrogant, but Ihor was incredibly humble as a tutorial leader.
