Comment:
Mr. Gentry is an outstanding teacher. He knows his subject extremely well. Highschool students do not deserve him as their teacher because the majority of them are not mature enough for a university level instructor. I hope all of those who have given him a hard time in highschool realize they wont have it so easy once they do get to a universit

Comment:
Dr. Gentry is always very polite to my calculus class. He is very good at explaining difficult topics. I have learned a lot from him and he has made me enjoy math even more. But now my high school wants to fire him because they are a bunch of idiots, as are the students in the precal class. Ex. Zach Durham, Jonathan Pearson, Barbara Hodges etc.

this man can not answer questions clearly. he talks more about issac newton and ben franklin more than math. we haven't learned anything new since we've been in his class. sends students out of class for no reason. talks in riddles. stay away from this teacher. he does not know how to teach.

Often goes off on random tangents, and moves through the material slowly, but is fairly easy to understand and will explain any problem to you if you just ask. Has students go up to the board to work out problems a lot, and he does expect you to answer questions in class.

He's very unclear, and he seems to get confused when you don't get it. He's not respectful to students and he dosen't do the example problems before class. I'm serious, he'll be doing a problem on the board and then say, "Oh, this problem is hard, I probably should have done it before class." Avoid him if possible.

He is a really good proffessor, if you go to his office and ask for help. He will go out of his way to help you. I took his class two years ago, and he still says hey every blue moon. For those who don't like Math, he is a good teacher.

Thought he was ok. Learned more from the textbook. I didn't like that his test problems were written differently than how they were laid out in the textbook. Homework wasn't bad. Just his tests made the class hard.

He's very nice. Always willing to go over things during office hours (and normaly makes more sense then). As long as you pay attention in class and go ask for help you should be fine. Not recommened for non-math inclined

He's a very sweet southern man, but sucks as a professor. He doesn't let you use calculators on your math finals. And he doesn't answer questions. His quizzes are unrelated to class material. He covered 1/2 of the syllabus. Key to success-sucking up.
