Comment:

Mr. Komatar is, without a doubt, the BEST teacher I've ever had. His lectures/labs are very hands-on. He's witty, and assists with easy to remember memes for tests. Tests are straight forward, requiring the study of his recommended material. He GIVES you the cheat sheet! I majored in Geology because of him. I loved, loved his classes!

Comment:

Take notes and memorize them before test with the help of the review sheet he hands out and you should get a good grade. He's strict about his rules like no phones in class but if you have questions he'll answer them no problem.

Very interesting lectures. Very hard tests. He is very strict on tests. I learned a lot from this class and he made it very interesting. Field trips were fun. Go to them!! You will need the extra credit. Challenging class, but it was worth it :) Also Final is pretty easy just study your previous tests

Comment:

I loved this teacher! All it takes is an average attention span and good ears. He talks quietly and mumbles so sit up front for sure! Take good notes because his lectures are his tests. The final is exactly the tests. You should have to work a little bit, it is college. Not high school. One of my easier classes but you learn a ton!

Frank knows his stuff and it is an interesting class. His class sparked me to want to go into Geology! BUT....he grades REALLY hard on his tests. I knew my stuff, but would miss problems from stupid things like misspelled words or punctuation. I got a C- because of tests, but it is a great class. Just study hard and watch grammar!

Frank was such a hard teacher. I went to class, took notes and studied hard but still averaged around 60% on tests. Other students around me were getting around 40%. He marked some answers wrong if you missed something as simple as punctuation. Even though his tests were extremely difficult, he was a very interesting teacher

This was my fave class! Frank is an awesome teacher. He really has a passion for the subject! Field trips are great. He tests from his lectures so go to class!! It's worth it!!!

Teacher is a really HARD teacher, esp. with tests. He grades on everything from spelling to grammar. The wording of tests is REALLY hard. Study EVERYTHING and know it all! Also don't expect too much flexibility, he doesn't give it

One of the best prof. I've had. He knows his stuff and the class was interesting. Used the book for 2 quizzes and that's it. He is strict but also funny. Show up to class on time, study & watch your sp & grammar & you will get an A. Plus there is extra credit. If you are sensitive to sarcasm and can't follow rules you won't like him.

Most unhelpful prof. I have ever had! Was unwilling to answer questions and was rude to students. The way he wrote tests was unclear and confusing. He also grades tests on spelling and grammatical errors. His lecture style was boring and generally irrelevant to the tests.

This man is extremely strict! He is the very clear while and interesting while he teaches and keeps things interesting. His tests aren't hard, but he is the world's strictest grader in the world! If you don't answer questions in full sentences or spell a word correctly he will mark it wrong, even if you have the write answer! He is so mean!!!

I have been going to school for a few years now and Frank is flat out rude. I have never been treated or talked to like I have from him. He is extremely mean. I dreaded going to his class.

Comment:

Frank reminds me of a wise uncle you might have that knows his facts. Very rational, fun to pick his brain. Keeps class fun with real world information and things you can take home with you. I agree with the others- he's very strict but luckily I begged for some mercy and got a B+. Tests off the lectures, study well, don't bother buying the book.

Good teacher, Be on time and take notes and youll do well. Advice... Never be late and always follow rules he will kick you out of the class. DO THE EXTRA DREDIT ASSIGNMENT it will make up all the points you miss due to his strictness. Pationate teacher, jsut come ready to learn and you ll get an A. P.S. do the extra credit with a GPS

He is an amazing teacher! Is always spunky and funny in his lectures, keeps you interested and explains things in a logical, real world scenario way. Is strict, but I'm sure he has good reason to be. BE ON TIME TO TEST DAYS, dont miss a lot of class (attendance is graded), dont use your phone,and take good notes. I enjoyed this class very much.

Not a Geology fan, but I did enjoy this class. This professor is CRAZY STRICT so if you can't follow his rules, don't take his class. Also, don't bother buying the book. He tests off his lectures.

Frank was the best professor I have ever had, he is nice and does lots of hands on labs that are so much fun if you want to learn take this class! it is excellent! he knows what he is talking about! I coudn't wait to come to his class everyday I wish he taught all my classes!!!

Professor Komatar is nice and his lectures are interesting. I learned a lot in his class and it was even fun! The tests can be easy if you study. I thought I was going to get a higher grade than I did but overall the course was good and enjoyable.

Comment:

No Cellphone use in his class unless you don't want to take a test or get kicked out of class. (this is a good thing in my opinion). Keeps you envolved in the lesson. Always there for you to answer questions. Don't ever miss a test you can't make it up unless he is informed of the situation and he approves. All around an exceptional teacher.
