Don't expect much; unclear syllabus, even more unclear expectations during performance (and little in the way of varied vocal pedagogy). In studio, outside members (usually studio alumni) brought in to direct shows, instead of prof himself. Great guy. I'm glad I study voice with him. Yes it's kind of true that he doesn't preach technique, but he knows what he wants and gets the best from you if you work towards it. Some ppl are good with young voices, he just happens to be good with developed voices and taking them further. Very laid back, but if you are a hard worker, you'll be fine!

Dr. J. is the most supportive voice teacher ever. He is at student's recitals that are not even in his class!!! He will not push you, but he will work with you if you are willing and passionate enough. He is encouraging, caring and very silly. He loves to rave about his 3 sons which is kind of cute. ^_^

Dr. J is a wonderful professor. He teaches you based on your wants for yourself. If you don't want to try and be better, he won't push you. However, if you know that you want to be the best you can, he'll help you in every way possible and push you to do your best.

we dealt solely with the grad student, mr. petrie. very knowledgeable guy. gave detailed instructions, emails you to remind of h.w. deadlines. there IS a lot of weekly work, but just devote a few hours once a week to the h.w. and it's do-able. [h.w. is watching 3-5 videos each week, writing responses.] easy A, if you don't let yourself get behind!

This was a boring, busy online class. You have a lot of notes to take and videos to watch, but it is all streamed online, so you can do it on your time. I got an A- and he gives extra credit opportunities at the end. I didnt do any ec- so it is possible. Its an easy A, but you gotta stay on top of it!

This is not a sleep through-easy A online class. There is a lot of busy work- but If u do it, you will have a high grade. It is an easy class, but a lot of busy work is involved. If your into that- then take the class- you will probably get an A if u do all the work.

its an online class, it does require some work, maby even long HWs and alot of creative thinking for your responses; but the tests were pretty easy. I would recommend this online class to anyone.
