Really a great professor. He understands that most students taking his class are not biology majors so he makes an effort to make the class more about you with information that you can actually use in life. He is extremely reasonable when it comes to grading. I wish USD had more professors like him! I definitely recommend taking this class.

Comment:

Incredible professor who truly cares about what he is teaching. If you don't feel affected by him or the course you most likely didn't pay attention at all. He tells you exactly what he expects for every assignment, so frankly it's your own fault if you do lousy - he's a fair grader. Overall great course, great experience & knowledge for life!

Fantastic professor! He teaches conversationally but everything pertains to the topic which encourages learning without effort. I have gained so much from this class and wish I had taken it over a full semester instead of intersession. Funny, knowledgeable, kind; USD needs more professors like Dr. Borin.

GREAT CLASS! Professor Borin really has a passion for the subject and makes class entertaining and fun. Highly recommend taking this class. Definitely one of my favorite classes at USD....take it during the summer!!!

Dr. Borin is a great professor. I thought it was a very interesting class. I took it over summer and the class is going to help me in the future. The workload is absolutely bearable. Should make this class mandatory instead of stupid logic. Take HIM!

Easy B or higher. A lot of pop up quizzes. He just uses powerpoint and classes aren't interesting. You don't know what to learn for the final it is not clear at all but even he tells you with common sense you will get a B for sure. just fill out the Labs) your going to be fine. The "Class of Common Sense". very easy. He's kind of a jerk sometimes. Don't come to late to class. Study the power points the night before for quiz answers. Overall easy but he doesn't tell you about the end of the class. If you take this class you need to be doing your Behavior Change Workbook over the course of the semester.

Easy A Class! Useful information based on health. 10 Pop-quizzes throughout the semester that can easily be studied 30 mins before class. Powerpoints can be downloaded and theres only a midterm and a final, both in a computer lab. Normally no classes on Fridays either. Only downfall is a lot of lecture is boring and theres lots of labs.

Best class to take for BIO/lab requirement. Quizzes every class but they are really easy. The information is very pertinent and it applies to your everyday life. Class lectures are boring, but you always get out early to go to the gym. 5 short 20 min. tests, lots of extra credit, easy A.

Great class and easy teacher. Really good guy that's looking out for the student's wellness. Anyone who complains is bitter about something THEY messed up on. Class fills up quick because he is good. Best class I've taken and probably ever will. Easiest and actually means something in life.

Its a very nice subject, especially the one with the lab. He is a very nice guy, straight forward when explaining, and the class is common sense! Very very quizes before class about the reading. Tests are multiple choice that take about 25 mins to finish. Very nice guy. Space fills up really quickly Huryy up!

One of the best classes I've taken at USD. The information is so helpful,& easy to apply to everyday life. If you need help he's always there to help you,& contrary to what's written here, I found EVERYTHING on the tests was in his handouts.A fantastic teacher who really wants you to understand the material & spends time to make sure you do

I hate him and his class. Survey of Bio, Physiology of Exercise is a joke! He is "that guy" in the gym, the one that thinks he is a workout God. We talk about nothing in class, are given technical homework assignment and then are tested on whether or not applesauce can be used in baking. Enough said

you THINK he's going to be easy, but his tests dont cover what he talks about in class at ALL. he thinks FAR too highly of himself, refuses to negotiate (he tested us on stuff he never covered and wouldnt give us points even though he admitted he didnt cover it yet). offers extra credit though.

this class is a waste of time...going to class becomes tedious after a while...borin is boring, can't teach, and thinks highly of himself. the class involves a lot of busy work, but is easy...take it to get your GE req out of the way
