Dr. Haver's class is easy in that the quizzes you take are EXACTLY like the practice quizzes or examples you do in class, so I would recommend taking notes (and his handwriting is not the best, so sit close to the front). Tests are the same way, and often recycle questions from the quizzes. But his teaching is poor and tends to belittle students.

Professor Haver is an excellent teacher. His lectures are paced well to ensure students have time to properly understand the concepts being explained. He answers questions in a clear, thorough manner and is always polite and patient with students who have difficulty grasping the material. I recommend him to anyone taking Math 131.

Ok guys the tests in his class, half the stuff isnt even on it or the study guide, he also treats everyone like there children. I questioned him one day about the tests questions not being covered in class and he told me it was my job to know everything even if he didnt teach it. SWITCH CLASSES IF YOU CAN!!!! RUN NOW!

Not that he can teach properly anyway, since he messes up almost everything he does. Why doesn't VCU have a screening process to get rid of the worst instructors?

GREAT math teacher. i was dreading this class, but he explained things SO well. i tried to take the class before, bombed my first test (37), but got a 99 on his first test. He really really tried hard to make sure that everyone understands before he moves on. Study for tests, do your hmwk & ask ?s!

Dr. Haver does indeed mess up a lot of his examples, but it is quite entertaining and he will make you laugh. He teaches at an extremely slow pace and is very easy to talk to when you need help or don't understand something. He is nice nad the class is easy...what more could you want!

Worst math teacher I've had at any level! I swear to God I felt like a retarded Barney the friggin' purple dinosaur was teaching our class. He treats us like we're five and he screws up every single thing he does. I have never been taught a subject so poorly. I had to learn everything from the book.

Best math teacher I've had at any level (I hate math). He is the only math professor at VCU where I was able to get a grade better than a C. Helps you out whenever you have problems, and teaches at a reasonable rate that us math haters can learn at.
