Comment:
A very liberal political teacher and uses philosophy to spread his views. No real learning of philosophy and class can get boring, 2 main exams which if you fail one, might as well drop the class. Not a lot of homework but in class assignments. If a philosophy major wouldn't recommend.

I'm not sure about his other classes, or his other years, but this being a critical thinking class I was not expecting to be talking almost exclusively about political events and activism. Teacher is a great guy, but did not teach subject material in favor of discussing current events and issues, which made reading mandatory. Not a difficult class.

NEVER take this as a fast track class!!!! all the questions on tests are either way too easy and then tons of "where was that in the reading". NOT an easy A and i'm ( i guess was) an A student. I worked by butt off and felt i knew the material until the exams came rolling in.

Professor Leslie means well and does a good job of explaining the basic concepts of each philosopher. However, the syllabus schedule is often ignored and we end up watching a lot of movies. Take notes and remember the names of the movies and philosophers. Take notes for every lecture so you don't have to search for it for the cheat sheet in final.

Professor Leslie is an outstanding human being. However, I personally found his class sub par. There was never any lecture slides, or notes, and it was rarely clear what exactly it was he wanted you to learn. The class was never consistent with the syllabus. Often assignments that were never listed were added at random with little to no heads up.

I loved Professor Leslie. He connects well with his students and is very helpful if asked. We have stayed in touch even after the class has finished. Do the reading, go class, listen and take notes and you will be set. 3 papers, 1 page note sheet for midterm and final. If you express interest in the material and learn it, you will do well.

Amazing professor very nice man very smart and professional I thought this class was going to be boring but it was not very interesting learned a lot showed up every day wanting to learn more. He is opened minded respects every ones thoughts opinions not bias at all shows very interesting videos every class and allows cheat sheets for tests.

Easy to pass class, which is disappointing to me. All videos shown (and questions asked) are heavily biased. Nothing thought provoking, no discussions, does not take dissenting opinions well. No debates. He is a nice guy, though, and I do not think he is a horrible Professor; however this class does not provoke free thought. Easy. A

This professor is a nice guy but can be dry. Show up, and read the textbook for vocabulary definitions on tests. I wrote my notes in microscopic writing all on one page throughout his lectures because he lets you use one page (front and back) on the final exam. Definitely left wing, and likes to talk about global warming, government, and economy.

It was hard to get good grade on three papers. In his class, we watched many videos and sometimes took a quiz. You can get A grade on quizzes if you read textbooks and make a note for them. Quizzes and Final exam are really EASY!!!!!

Class is kind of boring but picks up mid semester. Lots of movies and funny film clips. Talks a lot about politics and global warming but overall was a good class. Show up, take notes, and keep up with reading. regular quizes and a few essays. ake good notes because you can use them on the final.

He's such a sweet lil ole surfer guy who loves life! I love his ways of thinking &his personal stories. The films he shows, which are almost every class meeting, are either funny or thought provoking. Everything is very straight forward. Just read the chapters he assigns because you take mini quizzes based off of them often. There's only 1 final!

Great teacher! I learned a lot in his class. He's easy to listen to and he's very humorous! He also used events of today to reflect what he was teaching, so it made things a lot clearer! I really recommend taking his class! Had a lot of fun.

He jams global warming down your throat in the first semester, but it's manageable. He hands out a study guide for the midterm and the final, and it's open note. You watch a lot of videos in the class and there's a worksheet he has you do for each one, and the points really add up, and it's at random so class is mandatory. Pretty good guy.

Professor Leslie enjoys his subject and enjoys hearing himself talk. But he does not enjoy other people not paying attention to him while he is talking. You can use notes for the tests and you get to watch a lot of video for lessons. He's a good guy and you just start to feel bad that there aren't that many people into his lectures.

I took the class during the summer. Very likeable professor. A liberal in terms of his views and opinions. Wish the class focused a little more on the fallacies and the fundamentals of philosophy. I attended all classes and completed all assignments/test. I got an "A" so I can't complain.
