So we had like three quizzes the entire year, no essays, no big tests, JUST ONE BIG PROJECT, he gives no study guides on quizzes nor the final, everything was just vague, there was no communication, it was just bad, im really mad Im going to have to retake this class. He doesn't have clear slides. It's just like an outline format and he just talks.

Prof. Wong emails outlines he'll be lecturing on. Attendance does matter. Take a lot of notes. Our grade was only based on a few things ( two tests, power point project, Final). The 42-page powerpoint actually wasn't that difficult. Its not an easy A, you have to put in the work. I found his lectures pretty interesting & I'm not fond of history

Professor Wong is approachable at the beginning. Lectures barely follow the book or pertain to test questions. I love history, I wish this class was more engaging. Take home tests are 100 q's. He does tell a few things to remember for the tests. Be ready to teach yourself.

Super funny guy, often lets class out early which is great. Majority of the points are from take-home scantrons and the lecture notes are emailed out before every test so it's not hard to get a good grade. If he writes it on the board it will be on the test. Class is for fast-paced learners

This teacher is really tough, just for a GE class I wouldn't recommend. If you're a History major, and love everything about it and don't mind memorizing dates, names and places then he's your dream. Any other less number minded people, AVOID! He is a no frills teacher who will sink your GPA if you're not there and ready to put in A LOT of effort!!

Professor Wong is a great educator who really explains our nation's history and cares about what he does. His lectures catch your attention, but are not watered down at all. Your grade is solely based on the tests you take which challenge your knowledge of the content. I will be taking his Hist 202 class next semester. Hope this helps!

Professor Wong is one of the best professors that I have had for a History class. It is definitely not an easy A class, but you can get the grade you are aiming for if you actually put the work.

tests are really long: a lot of questions, he's a good professor sometimes you'll receive repeated class. very entertained. if you're taking HIST240 with him the HW for the end of the semester is 42 slices of a specific ethnic, so my recommendation to anyone is to start as soon as you can!

Professor Wong gets off topic pretty quick; it is extremely hard to follow him. He once lied to the class; he told the class that the test will be about one outline and civics (which is very generic), but questions from other outlines came in the test. And how can one study for "civics"? How is that fair? Wouldn't recommend if you care about GPA.

History is one of my worst subjects but prof Wong made it bearable. I never purchased or rented the textbook though that wasn't the best choice because I heavily depended on my notes and his lecture pdf that he sent out before lectures. But I still passed his class with a B

He gets off topic very easily and it makes it difficult to take notes. His tests are non-multiple choice and are very difficult if you aren't good at memorizing dates and names. If history is not your strong suit and you're taking it for a G.E. I don't recommend taking Wong for HIST201.

He has a weird accent. Yes he is Chinese, but I can't understand his accent when he's lecturing to the class. He gives tests based on acronyms he explains from the lecture in Microsoft Word instead of power points.

Prof. Wong is great at what he does because he really cares for his students. He encourages students to try harder in class for a better grade. He sends students his lecture outlines so u can use it to study. Not much reading, but be sure to read when instructed. Sometimes, his tests include topics that were not in lecture that's why u should read!

He is a great teacher who is very passionate about history. His lectures can feel a bit long but he is very entertaining and keeps you intrigued. No homework but studying for tests are greatly recommended. They are hard but you can get a solid A in the class if you study and participate. He also gives extra credit.

A great teacher. I'm a better citizen because of the history I learn from him. His jokes and pop culture references make lectures fun. Many students including me take several of his classes because we learn. Tests are fair. Curiously students expect to work hard for an A in math but get mad when they are lazy and get a bad grade in history.

Professor Wong has the best lectures, makes me look forward to class even at 8am. He also gives lecture outlines, which you print & bring to class and take notes on; really useful! He's great and keeps history pretty interesting. I would take this class again if I could. Come to class and read the textbook or focus in lecture, and it's an easy A.

The tests are long and often ask minor details not touched on during lecture, but that are hidden in the book. He will also post and announce students grades for everyone to see. While his personality is great, his teaching style leaves much to be desired.

He's a chillfunny guy. Every class session was a lecture. Just always show up, sign in, sit down for an hour and take some notes. Anything he says will show up on tests worth 200+ points. Several take home tests that will either make or break your grade. If he offers EC, TAKE IT. Class was out of 1220 points. He gives you the grade you deserve.

He won't baby you- at all. You have to ask questions after class mostly or e-mail him. Very detailed lecture so it's clear, but there's a lot of info you need to review in order to pass. Big EC at the end of the course and curved the test grades- if you start out with a C or D, you can still get an A by the end of the course. Not an easy class tho
