This is my favourite class this semester! Professor Symolon is a great teacher. His classes are all lecture based and I particularly enjoyed that (he gives great lectures). He gives 3 take home tests and then a final exam. I highly recommend taking his class!

Comment:

Symolon is interesting as a person. He is very very old and, as such, his lectures can occasionally be a bit boring. Tests were open book and only one research paper at the end. Do not sleep through his lectures, though. Many people made the mistake of doing this and got Bs and Cs on the exams, but if you pay attention, an A is very achievable.

He is very nice and has many interesting stories, since he was in the Marines. He asked a lot of questions, which made me come up with conclusions that I never thought about before. If you take his class, you definitely should get the book he wrote, "My Country, Right or Wrong". It helped me have more respect for him, and I used it as extra credit.

Great teacher. Easy class and if you show up to classes, take good notes, and complete the easy homework assignments, it's an easy A! There were 3 tests, plus the final. 3-4 homework assignments and one research paper due last day of class.

Super easy teacher. Easy class. Easy A! Took the Flex-Start class Hybrid, highly recommend! 3 tests that are easy and all the information given in class. Very straight forward. Not best! 3-hours full of controversies: Fox-News, CNN, Al-Jazeera related topics. Expect him to grade your grammar as that is what he mostly triggers; rather than, pay attention to the content of the handed assignment. He never responses to emails. I would not recommend him unless you?re desperate and can?t find INR2002 elsewhere!!

I took him for US Government. He's very conservative but doesn't impose his views on anyone. He's a really laid-back, nice guy. Just read what you're assigned, take notes, and it's an easy A.

Excellent Class. GREAT teacher! I was very afraid of this class being too hard, and almost dropped it. I'm so glad I didn't. Professor Symolon made this class my favorite class. It was an honor to have him. Definitely recommend!

EXCELLENT teacher! He enjoys and explains government clearly. Has a conservative point of view which is a great perspective. I took his hybrid course and his tests were open book with open notes. I really enjoyed his class. If you had questions he would gladly answer them and responded to emails quickly. Definetly recommend him!

He is a pretty cool guy. Makes jokes all the time and is very easy going. I fall asleep all the time in class, which makes me not do to well on the tests. But it is still a manageable class. He has actually turned me into a republican.

Despite what some people say, it IS possible to be a liberal and still get an A in Symolon's class. I disagreed with almost all of his opinions, however to his credit, he made the lectures and subject matter seem interesting even to someone with almost no interest in gov't/politics. He might make your blood boil but he's definitely a gentleman.

Nice Guy, really knows what he is talking about. Notes are a must have in this class. missing even just one class can leave you behind. Tests are multiple choice with one or two essays. Lots of lecturing. Low book use. Not really needed.

Awesome teacher, my first ever college class was amazing with him, just take the notes and your good to go. You don't even have to read the book, I opened it a couple of times and got a B. Excellent teacher and great teaching style. =]

Great professor! He really knows his stuff. He offers a really big extra credit assignment. If you take him I recommend you do it. His class is very motivating and it makes you proud to be an American.
