Wallis is very chill. He walks into class with his coffee and lectures on the subject matter. There are three to four essay exams throughout the semester. A day before the exam he outlines everything that he expects to see in your response. Essays must have a thesis and it must be supported. I loved Wallis! I always felt relaxed in his class.

Interesting class, knows his material, tries to engage the class in discussions. I ended the class without knowing where he stands politically (he presents the material in an unbiased way). The grade consisted of two multiple choice exams and two short papers. If you attend class, you don't need the book.

Wallis is pretty cool. His tests are just the notes from class compiled into an outline he gives you. If you just show up and take notes your good and don't really need to read the book. He can be boring but if your into what he is talking about its interesting.

A very nice professor. However,u're pretty much on your own. Make sure to go to class and take notes on his lectures and you'll be fine. A few times he changed the exam date w/out notice too. So stay in touch with someone in class. He's extremely helpful if you have any questions though. So ask!

Class is entirely lectures but if ur interested in the subj then you'll have no problem passing. He gives out only essay exams but he always ties his lectures together so it's easy to remember the info & realize how it applies in politics today. Not strict on attendance but don't miss class because his lectures r very helpful.

I've taken many of his classes. He's a really laid back and cool professor, he doesn't really care if you text or whatever you do in class... he teaches-- and if you miss out on learning- that's your bad! Just listen to the way he wants answers on tests- and you'll do fine. Most people I knew passed all the courses we took together with an A or B.

I took him for state and local gov. AWESOME! class and teacher. Learned so much and did not have to read at all. I actually liked going to class and my mind and understanding of Political Science was definitely expanded. I think that the mark of a good teacher is getting all the information you need for the class in the lecture.. he did this.

You shold take him if you want a break from the standard teaching method. He really makes you use your analytical skills. There are about 3 essays in the class that are easy to get an A on if you pay attention. Although he does not take attendence, not being there can hurt your grade. He only argues what the books say, they are not his opinions.

He teaches an upper division course like a superficial broad lower division intro class. He either likes your writing or doesn't. No way to improve your grade. Reading and lecture is optional. He is an easy B / B+. Whole repetitive class could be summed up in a three hour seminar. Philosopher Wallis is entertaining.
