The teacher is literally 85. She's moderately deaf. When you ask her to explain word usage or anything really, she'll go off on a tangent and not really answer your question. She spends an hr repeating things she talked about 2x already in previous classes.forgets to bring things, teaches from handouts. If ur serious abt Jap, dont take this class.

Comment:

Great Class, will learn a lot as long as you keep up your vocabulary and do the homework. Also do look over the culture handouts she will give out as they are a part of the exams. She is a little hard of hearing, but it can't be helped. Just speak loudly until she understands. Very helpful and understand if you cannot attend class.

My class meets once a week for 2 hr 45 min. In that time, Professor Stebbins goes over grammar for about 20 min., and spends the rest of time talking about tangents like war, math, and America. She is at least partially deaf and cannot understand the many questions we all have because her explanations are so awful. She's nice enough though.

I love this professor. She is really nice and knows her language. Be aware that she is a grammarian and, therefore, expects you to know and understand English grammar in order to understand French. She also has a hearing problem, and this often affects the manner in which she answers questions (speak loudly and clearly).

This class started out easy. After 3 weeks, it went all downhill and fast. 50% + dropped. You don't see your 'letter grade'. I still don't know what my grades are. There is to much material with too little time. And no book, she prints out everything.

yvonne is the best teacher ive ever had. she is wise and imformative with her true-life experiences. if we were the same age, i'd ask her on a date.

Ok, this lady teaches with handouts, and tells you to "understand, not memorize". Total BS. Her test are copied handouts with MANY words missing, and you fill in the blanks. If that's not pure memorization, I don't know what is. Easy, but stupid

Mrs. Stebbins is a pheonominal instructor. She has very good ideas and she is willing to help. I look forward to her class everyday. I couldn't enjoy her class more.
