Really interesting. She rambles sometimes but always has good ideas and is looking at the bigger picture and symbolism of art. Really inspirational and good to have deep conversations with.

Comment:

Alexa was awful on all counts. She was never clear on what she wanted, except that she wanted you to make "her" art. If you didn't, you received a bad grade. I got high grades on ll of my assignments, but scored low in the class because I never wanted to be around her (didn't attend). She is constantly late, and often rude. Do not recommend!!

She was very strict, and she had her own ideas about EVRYTHING. If she asks the class a question about someone's work, she is really only looking for opinions similar to her own. She's a nicer enough person, just overly critical about differing ideas and viewpoints. Also, reviews take a long time. It takes about four hours to go through 20 pieces.

Although Alexa has a good heart and is a good artist, she is a horrible teacher. There is no room for creativity in her classes... you can get a good grade if you do what she wants to see in your project.

She is nice, but dang she is confusing. She does not communicate well, stammers and doesn't make her point or instructions clear. Not my favorite instructor, but i enjoyed the class itself.

She is a very, very bad teacher. She's unclear on what she wants out of the projects, and when you ask her for help, she can be extremely rude. She forces her own view of what your art should look like. When grading, she plays favorites and tends to give unnecessarily cynical critiques. I really don't recommend taking any of her courses.

bad teacher every assignment was very unclear on what she wanted and she constently changed her mind. her assignments are dumb and have no purpose. do not take 3-d design with her. she is often late and doesn't like any style but her own. you can work your butt off on something and it doesn't matter to her.

Contrary to Alexa's rep on here, she's really nice. If you have no idea about the movements or styles she's basing her projects around, then expect her to make you do "her" projects. Otherwise, you just have to show her that you have a clear understanding of what she's trying to get you to do and a clear idea of what you want accomplished. Easy.

Worst teacher/class I have EVER had/taken.Out of my 3 yrs of school she is the LEAST helpful teacher.She made no sense and was barely ever there-so I never wanted to go.I had no inspiration to make anything remotely decent. We had to stick to her techniques,artists, and her ways which made it very unenjoyable.

Wow... she was not a good teacher, not helpful and very sarcastically cynical about your work. Very hard to please and just like what everyone else is saying on this website, be prepared to make art for HER, not yourself. Oh ya, she was also canceling class every other time, atleast, usually not a big deal but a lot of us had questions
