Pavuk is a great professor. I had western civilization with him which can easily be a very boring class but he made it interesting. He is very helpful and also funny. Some people felt he ranted to much but I did not mind. I loved the class because of him. I recommend 100%

There are surely easier professors but you will not learn as much from any of them as you will from Pavuk. This guy is absolutely brilliant and if you aren't a complete tool, you'll laugh multiple times throughout his lectures. He is helpful and very passionate about his field. Take him if you really want to learn and be interested.

He is one of the worst professors I have ever had. I love history but I have never been in a history class that has not taught history! you learn more with the countless pdf files he emails then you do in class. He is one of the worst professors ever! DO NOT TAKE HIM IF YOU LOVE HISTORY!

good amound of reading for homework what you have to do if you want to understand what is going on. he is FUNNY. really, if youre not sleeping and have half a brain you will pick up on his humor. midterm was EASY matching and a hybrid essay, same for final. hes pretty hot in that geeky history teacher sort of way. hes a bro, end of story.

Brilliant man. It's really a shame SJU students usually don't appreciate his sense of humor. He's sharp and witty. His class isn't easy but he makes it interesting and is hilarious if you're not an idiot.

wants students to actually learn something (shocking). very smart, doesn't even need a text! primary sources were short and sweet.no papers. i didn't feel like i was being lectured at. if you're the typical lazy stuck up sju student who doesn't want to leave your comfort zone, you might want to try someone more on your intellectual level.

Very different from other wciv profs. Focus not so much on facts but on overall themes, def took more away from his class than other history classes. midterm and final mostly essays, and he was kind of vague, but if you go to him for help he's great. really big on participation. has a subtle sarcasm you can pick up on if you're smart enough

AMAZING Civ 1 teach!! Extremely intelligent guy, and obviously passionate about history=class was always fun; helped out A LOT outside of class too. You HAVE to read, participate, and work hard, but it's worth it. Loved him so much that I'm HOPING to take him for US HIS II next spring!! He's so great! Soooo sweet, smart, funny, and sooooooo cute :)

The man knows his stuff and is passionate about teaching it to his students. The class is FAR from an easy A. I did more work for this class than i did for any other in 3 years, and I loved it. He is very helpful if you go see him outside of class. Does not tolerate BS poor quality work from students. make sure you do the reading.

I, a decent student who at least tries to do my work, loved Pavuk. He is the most helpful prof. I've ever met and he makes you think about stuff you never considered before. Take him!!

He was really interesting; I learned words in Arabic, Greek AND Hebrew. He didn't rely on a textbook, and the primary sources he used were fun. No real structure on the tests though and he's a hardass on the grading, but if you participate, show up and ask for help, you should do fine. He is hot in his leather jacket though ;)

I just got finished w Pavuk's class . He's soooo nice, esp. if you have trouble and you just admit you need help. He takes lots time, as much as you need if you need help. Hes a good teacher, actually making me staart to like history-- never thought I would.
