Comment:

Lame jokes, thinks he is funny. we didn't have anything but reading until past the half way point. Still haven't seen anything graded turned back in and its week 11. Drake is a nice guy though, very clear and helpful though I do not think I am learning much in this course.

Four journals, one final, one 5 min. presentation, 5 page paper. Do them and there's no way you will fail this class. Class can be boring but he tries to make it interesting and sometimes you get out of class early. I rarely read and I still was able to pass the class because of his lectures. Pretty cool professor.

This class was ridiculously easy, but hes probably the worst professor Ive ever taken. If you ask for help, he just directs you to his website rather than actually talking to or helping you. He summarizes the assigned readings. Doesnt encourage participation. Didnt learn anything in this class.

His lectures are mainly him discussing his interpretation of the text. He allows others to share their input but never really encourages it. We didn't do any in class activities. He has a lot of online resources available which are helpful. Turn in your journals and do well on the paper and you should get at least a B in the class.

The majority of this class was easy and pretty interesting. We read 10 plays, but you really don't have to read them super closely to do well. Come to class, pay attention to lecture, and take notes. You do journal responses to questions he provides on each play, one presentation on a discussion question, one essay, and one final. Final was hard!

Drake is a really nice guy but if you actually want to learn something about English, don't take his class. I wish he encouraged class participation and got more into the subject. All he did was lecture about the books we were supposed to read. But he lectures like he hasnt read them himself

Dr. Drake is a very nice, witty gentleman. The material is not easy and requires a lot of time. 4 Journal Sets, 1 term paper, and a final.The final is RIDICULOUS. All but a couple people did not finish the final because it was ridiculously hard. The final should be about the knowledge you attained, NOT remembering 3 lines from all the text covered.

This professor never showed interest in really teaching us anything. He does not encourage class participation whatsoever. Does a horrible job in grading our papers and worser job in telling us our grade. Drake is just so full of himself. Beware

I'm going to be honest, because no one on here as yet to be. Prof. Drake is very nice, but is by far the worst English Professor I have ever encountered. Extremely boring, very close-minded, ZERO class participation, and just not engaging. Very easy A, but if you want to learn anything about Literature, do not take him.

He's a great professor. I also took him for ENG 211 and I enjoyed that class as well. He grades very easy. Do the journals they are huge points. He knows what he's talking about. And he also records all the sessions so don't worry if you miss a class.

Very nice professor. Class is interesting, but he doesn't allow for much student discussion. His lectures are very interesting and he knows what he is talking about. Very easy grader! Do the journals, since he grades really easy on them. Good class all around.

Drake is pretty awesome. He's an easy grader, so you'll do well as long as you complete the assignments and turn them in on time. He's funny and passionate about the readings and knows what he's talking about. Attendance isn't mandatory because he tapes the class periods, however I do recommend attending the classes it's worth it.

I graduated last year, and I still talk about Prof. Drake. He is just such a likable guy!! He's very straightforward with the information so you can enjoy the class instead of wondering what's going on. The journals are great practice for exams!

Super nice, smart, and just a really sweet guy. I took him for 212 and 222 and found both classes enjoyable. He mixes in a great amount of humor in with all the factual info. All the material you need is available online, too, which is helpful if you are sick for a day. Great teacher!

OMG! He is so awesome&lenient. I messed up a lot in this class, everything from missing too much class to missing important presentations & being late on assignments, but he cut me slack. He's such a nice guy & cute because he really loves the authors he talks about. It's almost like he personally knows these deceased authors!

Drake enjoys what he teaches, but most of all, he enjoys reading his own ideas. When you have to write a paper or complete your journals, make sure you repeat exactly what he lectured. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you want to receive an A w/o reading a thing, other than what you have to present, go to class and note down his exact words.

Dr. Drake is a brilliant and friendly professor. The worst part of the class by far was sitting through the journal responses to fellow students. The course requires quit a bit of reading and a decent amount of work, but one learns a lot. I recommend Drake as a professor for those who are more interested in learning than grades.
