Andrea is a great professor. Her lectures and assignments build cumulatively towards typographic skills that are current and needed in industry. She gives you valuable feedback and always wants to see you improve. Show effort and it will be rewarded. Loved her class and couldn't wait to learn more in it.

Andrea is a talented designer. Cranky and jaded every class, expectations were overblown, we were first years expected to design like 10-year veterans. Lessons were great but, her critiques were targeting you, the designer, not the work. Let her favourites get away with so much more infractions. Great designer, bad professor.

Finally a teacher who is really there for you, wants you to succeed, cares about you as a person and who encourages you to do well. She cares about type and it really shows in her presentations. Class is interesting and probably the only one I really look forward to going to!

Knows her stuff, makes learning interesting by incorporating fun with knowledgeâ€"Jeopardy! Gathers her material from a wide range of sources. Highly knowledgeable, friendly and a willingness to help. You get out of her class what you put in to it. She doesn't pull punches, shows a dedication to her profession and teaching. A++

Andrea likes students who get off on type the way she does. I learned a lot from her classes and the more I showed initiative, the more she helped me out. Type design was cool, but long. Thanks Andrea.

Andrea does not *download lecture notes from the internet* as some people might think: not everybody cares to read what she writes - or works in class instead of surfing the web. I guess final portfolios are proof of the pudding. As for "childish" and "emotional", well, you should see the people who write stuff on here! Andrea is a great prof!

I would hardly call downloading lecture notes from the internet teaching, but apparently it is. She picks favorites and then hates her favorites the next semester for no reason. Trying to pit groups/years against eachother is also another "teaching" strategy of hers. All in all, very childish, emotional and unprofessional.

With Andrea you get exactly what you put into your work. She can be very pleasant, has a great sense of humour and easy to get along with. She makes you feel that you can talk to her about anything, she is very open. But cross her and you will feel the fury of hell.
