I've been in this class for a month now and all I can say Is that Ann is no the best teacher at all. She is never clear on anything at and doesn't prepare you for tests which makes it hard for you. She never helps out anyone in the class due to her office hours being so limited. She has made the material that is easy be really hard. Stay away

Herbst is very unorganized and lacked the style needed to teach math. If math comes easy to you, take her, but if it doesn't and need more of a slower pace then stay away from Herbst!! Tests are very hard and she takes points off for silly mistakes. Take Bach if you can instead

This teacher is nice, and out of class I could see getting along with her. The way she teaches the class is horrible. I had trouble understanding the way she taught and spend time in the Math lab. She is unclear, if she suggests something do it. She will take point of if you don't. She takes points off for silly errors. Beware.

The teacher is great! Most of the students in class couldn't have passed high school algebra, that's the reason they didn't like Herbst. THE CLASS IS SO EASY! What's laughable is that a test on COMPOUND INTEREST was failed by most of the class when it was OPEN NOTE.

ann is funny and the class is pretty easy, tests are usually open book and some are open note. really basic, just compound interest, some geometry, and normal distribution. you'd have to try to fail this class.

If you can't pass this class it isn't the teachers fault, but your own. Ann tells you everything you'll need to know for the test, goes over homework in class, answers all questions, and is available during office hours. Sometimes she'll let you have a page of notes and one of the books on the tests as well! Super easy class, and I hate math.

Ann is very funny and helpful teacher. I would say the best I have ever had.I was shocked when I saw the ratings here. Maybe the students who think she is tough and hard grader should open their textbooks and begin to study and stop thinking that the teacher is going to do the hard work for them.

This class goes at a nice speed not to slow or fast. But if you dont get it ASK QUESTIONS IN CLASS! Doesnt have many office hours so make sure you understand before you walk out of the classroom. Shes totally helpful to anyone that needs help you need to speak up though. DONT use cell phones, eat, or drink (h20 ok) in this class...she gets angry.

Not a good teacher. Spends lots of class time on tangents, rather than teaching the material. Expects you to learn everything out of the book, rather than using the book AND her lessons. Will reward you in the end if you work hard and improve. If you're struggling, talk to her, but I used the YouTube videos the learn everything needed in the class.

Ann is a tough teacher. She is an older woman and set in her ways. Hard tests, NO notes, NO extra credit. If you dont ask questions during class she will go off on tangents (to show off her mental gymnastics) often leaving you more confused. Only 2 A's out of 35 students. I was in the top 1/3 and barely passed. I wish I had taken another teacher.

Ann is a tough teacher, but good. I am in her 1A class and she is always there to help. always shows up a few min late to class and gets off on tangents frequently, but still teaches. If you dont understand the math, then go to her office hours or schedule a time to meet with her. She's hard, but is there to teach and help you if your confused

An OK teacher. No real extra credit offered. One project, possible in groups of 2 or solo. Fairly clear, uses text alot and no easy days. Reviews and answers questions then moves to new stuff. Fairly older teacher, so very set in certain quirky ways. My grade was severely brought down by harsh hw grading and by tests. Good teacher overall.

Great teacher. If you do your HW and check your mistakes you will get an A. If you are lazy and don't want to read a text and want to be spoon-fed an education, then math is not for you. Awesome teacher bc She gives you lots of opportunity to better your grade and you don't have to go to class later in the semester, as long as you read & do HW.

You can really tell Ms Herbst loves math and loves teaching. She is very available and easy to approach. She keeps the atmosphere light and tries to be funny often. If you're actually interested in learning this semester, enroll in her class and you'll do great!

Definitely the worst math teacher I've had. She is not very clear at all, admitted to never having looked at the homework she assigned. She often assigned work, then could not answer the student's questions. She doesn't really know how to convey her thoughts in English. I would stray to almost any other teacher.

Very good teacher. I highly recommend her. She tend to pick on the students that sit in the back. So sit in the front. She appears to be hard and strict but eases up a more as the semester ends. In addition I would refrain from asking her question in class she can very mean making you feel retarded by the time she answers your question.

From my perspective, she wasn't a hard teacher. I understood the material, did good on the tests, and my attendence was inexcusable. Based on that alone, I would have recieved a "B," perhaps a strong "C". I finished with a low "D". Of the 15 or so homework assignments I did 2 or 3. I'm just trying to put in perspective how much she weighs homework.

She is strict but she is extremely funny with a sense of humor. She was always available during her office hours and helped me when I needed it with homework. She doesn't baby students but challenges them to succeed. Sometimes she did seem like she was off in another world but she is very amusing. I got an A in her class.
