You don't really need to do a lot for her class: 4 to 5 two-page essays, a presentation, and a take-home 5-6 page essay. No quizzes or tests. She is also an amazing speaker and sometimes plays interesting movies in her lectures!

So like its a "perspectives on politics" class yet the only perspective she went over is one of identity politics and why we should all be on the left its very clear what side she is on. Just agree with what she talks about and write about it in your paper and you should be a good grade.

Dr. Brown is a gift to students. When I grow up, I hope I'm as passionate and enlightened as she is. Would highly recommend this class to anyone concerned about the world/social justice. If you're just in school for the grade, you'll be bored, but if you kind-of-sort-of care about things, by the end of the semester you'll be a budding activist.

I took Dr. Brown online during the winter intersession. Her class isn't hard at all, but you have to be committed. Since the assignments are all on Blackboard, it's best you finish them as soon as they're posted. She's very liberal in her thinking, so keep that in mind when you write for her. It's always easier to agree to get a good grade easy.

Dr. Brown is one of the best teachers at Saint Peter's. Some take her class because they think she's an easy grader (which she is don't get me wrong) but if you actually pay attention and participate you can learn a whole lot. I had her for many of her classes within political science and social justice. She is very passionate about her work.

Dr Brown is one of the most thought provoking professors at SPU. We did so much inside the classroom and outside She offers a wide-range of personal experience and challenges you to think outside of the box. You will leave with a greater perspective on the world and your place. Intellectual hippies make for the best teachers.

Dr. Brown is the nicest ever. I may not agree with a lot of her views but her class and really helped me in terms of how I think about the world. Her class is relatively easy--no tests until the final, not even a midterm. There's many papers though, but they're only 3 pages each. No homework and not many notes either.

How is she teaching "PERSPECTIVES" on politics when the only time she covers a perspective she disagrees with, it's to ridicule it? Just do what I did -- "agree" with her in all the papers and keep your mouth shut, and when class is over, go and hit a punching bag for 30 minutes, screaming your REAL political views during your rest intervals.

Overall easy grader. The class does have alot of books to read, but no midterm and final is really easy. Just make sure to hand in assignments on time, some of the stuff is real interesting, while other topics can be really boring, but if you need to get your core requirements done and want to stat pack your semester GPA, then this is the class!

She's obsessed with MLK and Ghandi, which gets INCREDIBLY annoying. Not to mention the fact that the entire class focuses on slavery, a topic that has nothing to do with our political system today. It's a social concerns class, not a politics class.
