Comment:
The most amazing and influential professors I've ever had. Dr. V. truly cares about each student individually and encourages contact on a one-on-one basis. She truly takes the time to get to know each of her students. Her knowledge on the books we read was phenomenal. She has really inspired me and provided me with confidence I didn't have before.

As much as I love Asha for certain things (understanding, knowledgable, and her courses are easy to do well in if you try) I have to admit hers lectures can DRAGGGGG on forever because she never brings a powerpoint and talks the whole time. She does overuse large words and sometimes makes simple statement incompressible, but she's overall very good

Asha is a phenomenal professor who is a tremendous resource to more creative-minded English students. Took her full-year class and loved every minute of it, especially her lectures. I'm assuming that these negative comments are coming from students that either didn't even try or probably shouldn't be English students in the first place.

Asha is amazing! It's true that she does speak a lot, and it's hard to jot everything down, and it almost seems like she doesn't breathe when she lectures... but I love the way she presents her material. She goes out of her way to help you out if you need to see her, even outside of her office hours. Her lectures make sense too. Overall fantastic!

Excellent prof. Diversified my university experience with a multicultural approach to Engl lit. I focused more in class because of her old school oratory approach instead of using ppt. British accent was perfectly understandable. Every sentence was gold and worth your tuition. Very considerate, genuinely cares for students by going above and beyond.

Great prof! She was very flexible throughout the course to meeting various students needs and was very clear along with giving students options to express themselves in different ways and to choose how difficult they wanted the course to be. Take her classes!

I am amazed by the number of people who think so little of this professor! She is very intelligent, caring, and pedagogically sound. Her teaching technique is amazing for those who approach the class with an open mind. I loved this class.

Avoid her. She is impossible to understand...hard to hear and even when you do, she manages to combine incredibly advanced diction with incomprehensible mumbling. I deeply regret taking her course.

Comment:
Often times, her dialect was almost incomprehensible (thanks to her overuse a large words). She had a poor organization of her lectures, she taught shakespeare in a completely useless way, and I left the class being utterly confused, and somewhat angry that I paid for a course that taught me almost nothing. I do not recommend taking her course.

Comment:
There is almost no structure to her lectures, despite her attempts to convey some semblance of coherency. However, it should be noted that she does her best to be flexible and helpful. Unfortunately, her lack of clarity does hinder the attempts of being helpful.

Awesome professor! Completely dedicated, extremely sympathetic, and ridiculously brilliant. Her interpretation of Shakespeare was anything but surface-level; she consistently offers insightful and thought-provoking suggestions. She is an eloquent speaker and an incredibly nice lady. Fantastic course and professor, I recommend it to all!

I'm glad that other people have had good experiences in her classes because I am sure that she is a very nice person. When it comes to teaching Shakespeare though, her interpretations are very surface level and I honestly have not learned anything thus far...

The reading list was very interesting and a nice change from typical genres. However, Asha seemed to be in a world of her own. Very Ambiguous and scattered. For such an intelligent lady covering such modern material I wish she would get a clue about how to educate young minds. Difficult to contact outside of class.

I loved Asha. EXTREMELY smart. To the point where you feel like you might as well just go and die in a hole b/c you'll never be half as intelligent. The class was difficult, but worth it and i found her lectures insightful and interesting. She is very understanding and approachable!

Ambiguous essay topics that became very constrictive and hard to write well with. Her lectures, too, bounced around, but nonetheless, were interesting. Despite her ambiguity, she is very nice, approachable, and completely sympathetic to her students.
