hybrid class so you only meet 1x/week. No HW. Quizzes on canvas based on the textbook (easy). Reading the book is NOT required. You should know how to make outlines for speeches with APA citations and peer reviewed sources. every speech: intro, demonstration, group, persuasive. She is verrry disorganized and lost 3 of my evaluations, making my solid A go down to an A-. This isn't a hard class, but she tries to make it "challenging" by being really nitpicky on your speeches and outlines (bad posture, didn't feel like you evenly distributed eye contact, etc). So many errors in her quizzes & never tells us when there is one.

She is very disorganized and if she loses your paper, she won't give you credit for it. She would tell us in class that we have an online quiz but it won't be posted until last minute. She is also a pretty tough grader.

Professor Von Till is a caring person and tries her best to get students involved. This was a hybrid class, which was structured fine. Online quizzes on the textbook and in class speeches. She provides a lot of feedback and gets students to help each other. If you practice a lot, then you should be fine.

Honestly just a terrible teacher. I think she still has a job because she's on the board, otherwise she does nothing. The book is only needed at the beginning (first 4 weeks) then you never use it again, annoying cause it's $100. She's also crazy UNCLEAR on due dates or instructions.

This is a hybrid class so you just meet one day a week for speeches. She releases the online quiz a few days after class. Her grading is really inconsistent. You got to show up to every class because there will be speech evaluations you have to do for your classmates. The book is required. The online quizzes are pretty easy with the book.

My class was a hybrid class. We met once a week for an hour and when we were in class it was mostly people giving speeches. You do readings and quizzes at home on canvas. I did three speeches throughout the semester. Not hard at all. Basically do the quizzes, the three speeches, and show up to class and evaluate your peers.

She is chill. Doesn't require you to go to class and don't even buy the book. You will never use it. I got a C in the class and i didn't really try. I'd recommend for a class you want to coast through.

Loved her! she is so sweet and she makes the material very interesting. even though the test questions can be tricky, the speeches are super easy. you just need an a on most of the speeches to get an a in the class, which is not hard to do. make sure you show up to class though, or else she getts a little angry and oyu miss material.

She is awesome! She doesn't lecture the material from the book (you have to study it by yourself), but she gives a lot of real-life examples which is more fun. You have to attend the class to get a good grade and be accurate with your outlines (she is very strict about this). But she gives very clear instructions how to get an A, just follow them.

A very nice professor, will help you improve your speech by giving feed backs and other things. Not a hard grader for speeches but your outline for the speech will hurt your grade if not label and etc. Their is 1 midterm and Final and she goes over whats going to be on them(info in the book)idk why in a speech class but you should take her class.

Comment:

She seems nice but take her class if you're a native speaker and/or a guy(!). If you're a woman, make sure you were in the same sorority she was in in college. Throughout college I never felt I got an unfair grade other than her class. My work was better than that of people she favored, yet my grades were lower. Most disappointing as a professor.

Speech groups r somewhat helpful and beside u can get to know your classmates. Very picky about the speech outline and so far almost all the ppl in my class received bad grades bcos of that. (A) is impossible unless u do really well in everything. Class is fun but too bad (A) wasn’t given to the hard-working students cos she is such a hard grader.
