Had his class last spring semester, great professor that knows what he's talking about. He gives enough time and good critique. he also, challenge you and make you think. I'm talking with him another class 'Adv. Design' this semester.

Comment:
Prof. Pirman has an exceptional knowledge of design. He keeps with modern design trends in addition to his knwledge and love for quality design and designers from the past. His classes are what you make of them. But, after taking his class you begin to realize how professional and relative his teaching is.

Composes class and critiques in a professional manner, preparing students for the assidous real world of graphic design. Is fair in evaluations and offers beneficial and constructive critisims.

he gives clear overviews of the programs and assignments, and gives the appropriate amount of time to allow students to work through projects. very helpful as far as offering portfolio/job advice. the students who really want to work in graphic design will get as much out as they put in. pirman has been very honest and helpful during my 4 years.

First of all, graphic design classes can't be compared to regular academic classes. Whether or not you do well in Pirman's class depends on how ambitious you are. Students who do well in his class take the initiative to learn what good design is outside of class. Pirman is an excellent professor at giving you the tools to succeed.

Comment:
I fear this man will never actually figure out how to properly work the programs he attempts to teach to his classes. He'll take breaks in class so he can re-figure out how he's supposed to do what he's trying to demonstrate. Along with this, he seems scared to interact with his students. Akward.

very poor, weak on "real life" experience such as freelance pricing/good salary ranges etc. did virtually nothing with printing, 4 color process, proofing jobs etc. learned more at the tech in one semester then I did with pirman.
