I wish there was a rating that was less than 1. For his final, I studied for weeks and I knew the info. Took the final and the tests were nothing like the slides, or the textbook and he expects you to know things that arent specified in the notes or other materials. Worst class Ive ever taken and he makes me want to change majors

Lectures are very in depth but clearly structured in a logical way. Hell prompt you to sort of shout out answers in the middle of class & you should DEFINITELY do that, it helps keep you involved. Lectures include helpful diagrams & are posted on his site. Attendance isnt mandatory but you should go bc the note card questions are on exams.

He is great professor. He covers the matieral really well but be prepared by reading the text book. He also gives days off to watch videos and write short essays (500 words). If you study and pay attention you will do well in his class!

Dr. Luciano is a pretty good professor, he makes the clear really easy if you just pay attention. You can skip class, but make sure you get the questions he hands out for the readings and you'll be good to go. Plus no cumulative final!

He's very awkward to talk to in and out of class, but not a bad guy. He gives you a free 100 for 15% of the class if you show up, but exams suck. Typically they have 3-4 MC questions not covered at all in class making it hard to get an A on them. Open ended is usually really easy and worth 50% so it's pretty easy to get at least a B.

He is not very active with his lecture which makes it boring. His test are very specific to what he tells you in class and hard to read. Grades are heavily based on exams, random notecards, and lab. He also stops in the middle of a chapter and puts it on a test. I would not recommend this class to anyone unless the like the subject of biology.

Can be funny, one of those professors that stands there staring at the class till someone has the nerve to spit out an answer. Slow grader but is clear about dates and reminders. He updates with emails regularly which is nice. Not the best by definitely not the worst.

Tests are very difficult to read and multiple choice answers are specific to things he says in class. If you don't go to class you won't know the answers. Follows test dates on syllabus, but not amount of material covered (will give tests part way through the chapter, but still includes questions from end of chapter). Write down EVERYTHING he says.

Dr. Luciano is a good guy but extremely dissorganized so finding out information regarding grades or whether or not he is actually giving you credit for in class notecard questions is extremely hard. His exams are very tricky, this class is costing me my scholarship :(

I failed all the tests, and I was a 4.0 student. He is so hard to pay attention to, and the tests are nothing like what we learned in class. I would never take his class again.

I feel sad writing this review. Luciano is really nice, and i really do like him. I just HATE his class. There are only 3 grades in the entire class -- three exams that i failed. I was a 4.0 student, just to put it in perspective. I had him for lab, and he was great! Just avoid him for lecture.

If you want to listen to a monotone robot talk about his cats and jeopardy, then take this professor. He will whisper sometimes, and be shouting on the top of his lungs the next second. I cannot pay attention in this class because I can't take him seriously.

Dude is interesting I'll give him that. Some days he'll plow through lecture, others he'll explain more. It's hard to pin down. Show up, and participate and you'll be fine.

Boring long lectures. Extremely hard exams, questions on exam is nothing like the lectures in class. Reads off power points, but then takes 15 minutes to explain each slide.

Had for bio lab and was the easiest thing I've ever taken. It was easy but also did not learn anything from lab which was disappointing.

Very passionate about this subject. Mainly does power points. You have to buy the text book and read along in order to pass the exams. Exams are easy as long as you review the power point and discussion questions. Expect to write a few short papers as well.

He is very nice and passionate about his work. He is willing to help you a lot after class. His lectures are very dry and he reads straight from the power point and he teaches at a very fast pace so it's a pretty hard class. You MUST read the text book to do well on tests. Tests are based on concepts, not definitions.

If you enter into his class be prepared to keep up to speed with the lectures and read the book otherwise you won't do as well in the class. He tries to be funny which can sometimes be annoying but he does give study sessions before the test. They didn't really help me though. Basically this isn't a class you can cruise through. You need to study.
