I cannot say enough about Professor Patterson. She is one of the most supportive, knowledgeable, and caring people anyone would be lucky to learn from. She values her students' education just as much as we do but her devotion to quality patient care is something to be admired.

Comment:

One of the most intimidating professors i have ever had. She makes you work for it. Had her 2 semesters for clinical and she lectured adults 1. Do not come to clinical or class unprepared or you are wasting your time and hers. Extremely smart and wants to teach you. Tough but fair. Bad reviews come from people who didn't work for it.

I don't know why people are giving her bad reviews, she is one of my favorite teachers. She will help you understand everything, give you good advice, keeps lectures exciting, and never makes you feel stupid. Office is always open. She does so much for her students and I wish I could have her for another class! Nursing is hard, get used to it!

She was literally the worst professor i ever had. she makes you feel stupid and incapable, frequently asking people if they really wanted to be a nurse and to possibly consider another field. she will make you cry, make you sweat, the rudest passive aggressive person on the planet. do not take her, you will regret it.

She makes you feel stupid every time you come to her for help. I had nightmares after I took her. They don't care about your education, just your money. Do yourself a favor, do not go to RVCC for your RN.

She is the worst teacher i ever had in my life. She clearly has her favorites, & she is bias, discriminating, doesn't teach but makes you feel dumb if you want to learn. If you ask a question, they tell to find it in the book. Don't waste your time & money going to RVCC for your RN. This teacher & the majority of the nursing teachers are terrible!!

Did Carol's BFF's come and write her reviews? She is totally bi-polar, bias, discriminating, doesn't teach but makes you feel dumb if you want to learn? What's a dumb question when U R learning? DON'T GO TO RVCC FOR YOUR RN!!! Take any other school, these prof's don't care about ur Educ., just their precious 1st time NCLEX pass rate-RN=NO RVCC!!

I'm not gonna lie. Patterson scared the hell out of me during lecture, but as time goes by, you "get her" more and more. By 2nd year you come to miss her!! I've heard she's really tough in clinical but I haven't had her for clinical only lecture.

I had Carol as my clinical instructor in 2000. She is very tough but you will learn alot. Many times over the past 9 years I was glad to have Carol's words come into my head while caring for and saving a patient. If tou take her for clinical you will be a much better nurse for it.

She has to be the hardest teacher you will ever have. She won't deal with any slacking or being unprepared. But you will learn more from her than any other teacher. If you can take her for clinical as much as possible. I will be in debt to her forever.

You will not realize how much she taught you until you are done with the class. Don't be afraid to take her for clinical, she is fair as long as you do the work and you will learn alot. I am going into second year and taking her again.
