You will pass the class if you choose topics that she likes. However, her methods are a bit inefficient with the printing out of EVERY resource and draft for all of the essays. The books chosen were also a bit boring in my opinion, however, it isn't an "awful class." Take it if you have to, but I wouldn't recommend by choice.

I took English 101 online because of my schedule. She is a tough grader but all of the information you need is given to you clearly. She also responds in a timely manner to questions. She even opened up assignments early when I asked to get a head start on essays. Great teacher that offers great feedback. She even offers extra credit. Loved her.

Prof. Scott has some ridiculous essay requirements (print your sources, not graded unless it's in a folder) HOWEVER is a great teacher. I left this course a much better writer because I was challenged and Scott made me feel motivated to do better each essay. Have her help edit your paper before you turn it in - she is phenomenal. Very sweet/caring

Dr. Scott is the best teacher at ccbc! I took her in 101 and 102 which was honors. She is very clear about her assignments and what she expects. As long as you pay attention and put effort into your writing there is no reason you should not receive an A. Her readings are very interesting which makes writing a lot easier! She is the best!!!!

Online classOverall I liked the content. I didn't like the lack of support from the teacher when needed which is disappointing in a 101 class. I repeatedly asked for help, was told ok, didn't get it and would get subpar to low final essay grades. Great grades & responses on everything else though which made it even more confusing. Very conflicting.

I took Professor Scott my very 1st semester at ccbc. I was very impressed with her teaching methods. She was very nice and approachable if you had any questions. If you showed her you were interested in the material and ready to learn she was willing to help as much as possible. Thanks to her she is who referred me to the ccbc honors program.

Professor Scott was a very hard headed teacher. Her essays were very confusing and had to be done a specific way. If you did not follow this confusing path for competing an essay, point will be taken off left and right!!

I think she is a good fair teacher. I had a way easy teacher for 101, so i had to step up my game in Eng 102. I liked the books we had to read. Papers were ok. Just try and put forth effort. I got a A. Last project is easy.

I had Ms. Scott for English 102 H. I enjoyed her choice of reading assignments and the class discussions. Her exams are pretty easy as long as you complete the req'd reading. However, she grades strict when it comes to writing. Her class is challenging and you walk away having learned something. Great teacher!

She is an awesome teacher. She expects a lot but she will tell you what she does expect at from start. She is a tough grader but if you do your best and turn in all assignments you should be good. I loved her class, thats why I took her for both English 101 and 102, honors.

I had her for English 101. She is a very nice! I was not a big fan of the idea of taking english b/c I hate reading but I loved her class. You read 3 books and do journels on them, there are little quizzes as you read really easy, there were 5 papers one is a group project other than that she is very helpful on papers. Im taking her for Honors Engl

Prof Scott was a pain as a teacher she grade you based on her opinion opposed to the facts given, her tests were easy but you were graded by your opinion and if she didn't like your view then she would take off points. Horriable teacher in my opinion

She taught on a more advanced level than a lot of other teachers at essex. Really nice, willing to work with you, but high expectations. If you do your homework and turn your papers in on time you should be fine, as long as you follow her guidelines.
