Comment:

Class mostly consisted of him doing problems (from the book) on the white board and then asking the class what the answer/next step was. He wasn't terrible but class was boring and he didn't really teach; he just went through the motions. He seemed a little lost & there were a few times where he himself got the answer wrong and had to be corrected.

This is the worst math teacher ever. He do not explain any of the problems. He tells you what to expect on the test but that is not practical. If you don't know how to work out the problem it's c Going to be hard to pass. He is not approachable and he freezes in front of the class every 20 mins

He talks too low and confuses people. This is the worst math teacher I had in my life since I started school. He doesnt try to make you sure understand. All he do is write problems on the board and work them out himself instead of for the class. Very complicated.

You don't have to go to class but I recommend it. Math is easy for me so his teaching method worked fine for me. I did hear others express that they felt he moved too quickly and didn't explain things though.

this guy knows his stuff but he is a bad teacher he talks to low in class and he goes to fast and writes to fast he is the worst teacher I ever had in my life I would never take him again avoid him at all costs !! and he gets mad if u ask questions.

Mr. Doyle is not a good teacher to take if u are not strong in math, & if u r strong in math, he still makes it very difficult. His lectures don't teach u anything. Often times I would go to his office during office hours , & he was not there! When I did find him, he behaved like he was mad that I was there asking him 4 help. AVOID HIM !

He really don't care of the student understands are not, it's their problem. He just write problems on the board and look at everyone crazy!!!! like we understand with he is doing. If, a student gets it, then that the student he teach too!!! The student needs to be really excellent in Algebra before entering his classroom.

Not the greatest teacher if you do not already have a background in algebra. He is fast pace and not great at explaining if you don't understand. He is straight forward and to the point. Boring class. Doesn't post grades on canvas and doesn't calculate homework on mathlab until the end of semester. I would not take again.

Agree with the post below he did say he gets paid either way. Guy is the worst he doesn't care about his students, Math nor his job because he shows up minutes late. Most of the homework is online and he doesn't grade that by much either. Test are weird considering the book teaches one way but he spices it up once you get the test. Take Mclain!

Not the best but not the worst either. He rushes through problems and expects us to know the answer as soon as he writes the problem on the board that takes 7 steps. I hate that the homework isn't counted as a grade. So far there are only 5 people in his classroom. A lot of people dropped out. McClain and Reppel are better in my opinion

His tests are ridiculous. He wants you to do the work the way he does it. He does not go off of the book, mathlab, or the variety of ways you can learn a particular problem. Even if you have the correct answer, he will mark it wrong because you did not do it his way. Horrible instructor. I do not recommend if you struggle in math.

Probably the worst math teacher I've had here at Delgado. I enjoy math but his way of teaching is very confusing. He is also impatient and condescending.. He also creates his own tests and wants the answers his way. Example, you can have the right answer as the book, computer or tutor teaches you but he wants it as a fraction or points will be off.

Comment:

He gives a very clear study guide right before every test. Just Study! He gives partial credit on test problems. For example if you show your work and he sees that you tried and you have certain parts right he will give you partial credit instead of marking the whole problem wrong. That was big help for me! if not for that I would have failed.

When I found out that I needed to take Math 130, I knew I would be taking it with Mr. Doyle. Math is my weakest subject, but I managed to pull a B with his help. He would see me during his office hours and help me answer any homework or test question I had. He is patient, encouraging, and kind. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed.

Very nice man, but he isn't always great at explaining things. He also moves pretty fast, I was normally a problem behind at all times. If you have questions, ask no matter how dumb you may feel. Odds are that other students are wondering the same things. If you really apply yourself, you should pass.

He is horrible! He does not post your test scores online so you can track your grade. He does not give proper notes, basically writes whatever he wants! Does not I repeat DOES NOT make anything easy for you, I understand were college students but you basically have to teach yourself, and stay in the mathlab even with all that I still will not pass

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN CLASS IF YOU WANT TO PASS!! WORST MATH TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN ALL MY YEARS OF SCHOOL, HE IS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL AND MOVES EXTREMELY FAST, WE HAD 7 SECTIONS TAUGHT IN 2 DAYS AND THEN HAD A TEST! I HAVE MADE A B IN THE CLASS BUT ONLY BECAUSE I TAUGHT MYSELF AND GOT HELP FROM THE MATH LAB, IF NOT I WOULD HAVE FAILED!
