Complete & study the handouts and you'll be fine. If you want the perfect A, be sure to know the models and cells displayed in class, not in the book! They can be quite different. Spell correctly. Not personable at all, which defeats the purpose of the profession. Be prepared for very dry sarcasm. Talks low & hates to repeat herself so sit close.

She's very clear, study the notes and you can't go wrong! All of the test are straight from the notes. There are no hidden tricks. Every class there are notes, don't miss! She does get side tracked which can be distracting but you have to look past that. She made me understand biology which is remarkable! Loved her class!

Took her for Majors Biol and Lab 2. Having a strong background in Biology from another college I found her to be very unclear, the queen of irrelevant tangents, and just all around odd. This felt a lot like Jr. High. Just try not to confuse her with questions or discussion, you will only do yourself harm.

She's a nice professor. I'm not a Biology person though. Although, her tests are straight from the notes, but there are a lot of notes to study and memorize. Her quizzes are extremely, too. Also, she's kinda monotone when she lectures. Like I said I'm not a Biology person, but I recommend her.

Notes come straight from the text, which is fine-but whats the point wasting 1hr+ in class to rewrite from the textbook when you can read?! A student could teach the course better than she did. She doesn't know the material thorougly enough to elaborate. Acts like a snobby professor when I doubt she has an AS, much less a BS or MA!

I love this teacher! I wasn't so sure when I first took this class but over time I found she is pretty easy going. Just show up for class and take notes. For us she gave us study questions for each section and gave us the answers also. Copy the answers and look over the notes and you will pass the quizzes and tests easily.

Straightforward. Concise. She tells you what she expects from the very beginning. Everything is laid out in the notes. There is a lot of memorization with models and slides. If you look up all the information and fill out her handouts before lab, you will be prepared. You have to put in the time, and honestly these are all basic terms. Very easy A

She gives you everything you should know, but she also expects you to memorize it. She doesnt care if you understand the lectures, because she doesnt understand it either. She knows a bit of 143, but she copies her notes for 142 verbatim on the board, and takes points for misspelling.Verbatim quizes every class.Hard tests.She doesnt like questions.

I asked her a question in class one day and she told me she was going to shoot herself. This teacher is completely unapproachable and doesn't really TEACH. She writes tons of notes, but doesn't explain what they mean. TAKE NOTES IN THIS CLASS. Just take all the notes and memorize them and you will get an A.

Ms. Lowell is nuts. I got an A, but she's a very quirky teacher. The class itself is not hard if you do not miss class and study. You absolutely HAVE to go to class to do well. Hopefully you have thick skin, because she will look at you like you're a moron if you ask a question. This is NOT an exaggeration. Ask anyone who's taken her class.
