Comment:

Prof. Reitz is very well prepared for class and is a good speaker. Attendance is not take however, she does give out pop quizzes which count a lot towards your grade. The class is large, don't expect for her to have a very good connection with you at the end of the course.

Comment:

I had her for Music in American Culture. She mainly teaches off her PowerPoints but she shows videos and adds more to whats on the board. She does not put the PowerPoints on blackboard so you need to go to class. Theres not a lot of homework so if you fail her class, its because you didnt try. Overall, shes super cool.

She is a wonderful professor that genuinely loved what she does, and knows how to give good lectures. I enjoy every class and can honestly say she makes it enjoyable.

Dr. Reitz really knows and loves the material that she teaches. She is well prepared for class and treats all of her students fairly. I enjoyed the course, but personally would like to know more about American composers from the 20th century. She has made this course one of my favorite classes.

Twentieth Century Music is by far my favorite class this semester. I really enjoy that we are allowed to have our own opinions about subjects we discuss in class as long as we can back it up. I learned and enjoyed the lectures, my favorite aspect was the non-lecture activities, like performing In C in class and making Dadaist collages

Awesome teacher. Very informative. She's really understanding if she knows that music history is not your thing and you have to take her class in order to graduate. Just do your work and don't skip her class and you'll be fine!

I really enjoyed this course. It is an intense look at the Romantic era from a perspective I have not yet seen. Dr. Reitz expects us to think critically. The best aspects is the graduate-level discussions and develop our ability to make connections and analyze material for deeper meanings. TONS of reading/listening but you will learn this stuff.

By far, one of my favorite professors I've ever had. I enjoy that she does not baby us. She let's us know what she expects and holds us to it. She does not cut us any slack, and I appreciate that - after all, we are in college. It's time to stop having everything given to you on a platter. I wish more professors were like this.

Comment:

She's a fantastic professor. Her classes aren't difficult as long as you do the work well, attend class, take good notes, and study hard. Honestly, that's all you need. She is great about responding quickly through emails and is always ready to help you. As stated from everyone else, do not plagiarize. She will NOT tolerate it, nor cheating.

She is very boring to listen to. Don't take her in the afternoon because it is a drag. The listening test's suck! Pay attention and you should do fine but she has not sympathy for anyone. She makes you feel like your questions are stupid.

She will eat you for lunch if you even THINK about plagiarizing. If you ask her for help with the papers, she gives advice (more than you would ever want), so get her a draft in advance. She has NO mercy on cheaters. She takes the 418 & 419 classes seriously and doesn't care if the students like her or not but if you get to know her, you will.

Comment:

Great and easy class to take if you need an international, humanities, or a 6 gordon rule. It really knocks out a lot with a little work required. She is very straight to the point. She tells you exactly what is on the test. The listening exams are a little more difficult but not impossible.

Very Very nice, and easy but you must attend class and take notes. Mine was 930 in the morning so not that easy to go but if you go and do all the 3 papers, you will get an A.
