Cindy Brewer is amazing and is a great professor. She cares so much about German and her students. I loved her class so much that I went on a study abroad with her to Austria, even though I'm not majoring in German. She is super accommodating and will do whatever she can to help you. She's spoken German her entire life and knows it so well.

I honestly did not attend many classes and it is still possible to pass. Get ready to spend at least one or two hours each day on German homework. When learning a language, it is key to practice it every single day.

Professor Brewer is a great teacher! She really puts effort into making sure the students understand the material and class is really fun. There was a lot of homework, but all of the homework was actually helpful for learning the material. I really enjoyed her class and would have a class from her again!

Fantastic teacher. My German improved so much because of her. She really cares that you learn German and she is always willing to help. She teaches really well and is very passionate about the language. I didn't expect to enjoy the class as much as I did, but it was great! I would definitely recommend taking a class from Professor Brewer.

BEST Prof I've had by far, BUT NOT EASY. Makes sure you're challenged the whole time & it really pays off. She's friendly & FUNNY but still very effective teaching. Course is very well structured, you know what's expected from the start. Great w/ individual help & knows her students. Doesn't use Learning Suite. HARD WORK. Had her twice & loved it.

Professor Brewer is a great professor. She explains things in German first, which is super helpful for learning casual German, but she will help us as much as we need, including switching to English when necessary. She tells fun stories as the projects are fun. I also love that our biggest homework is watching movies. There is a speaking grade.

Cindy is an amazing teacher. She loves her students and is always willing to help no matter what your problem might be. She is very smart and explains grammar and other concepts clearly. She helped me strengthen my love for the German culture and language and encouraged me to participate in a study abroad which changed my life. She is great!

Cindy is an amazing teacher and is very personable. One thing that I really like about Cindy is that she is always willing to help. If you are struggling you can talk to her and find a solution together. Her classes are also fun and exciting because she is energetic and a great story teller. I would definitely recommend taking any of her classes!

Dr. Brewer is a generally enjoyable professor, because she leads good discussions and often shares very amusing stories. In my opinion, assignments and papers are graded more on whether she agrees with your thesis rather than on your argument and evidence. Her pronunciation is not in accordance with Duden standards.

I have taken several classes from Dr. Brewer. She is extremely articulate. She expresses difficult concepts from many disciplines in a way that is comprehensible and yet retains the complexities of the original. She is a kind, approachable mentor.

Fascinating class set in a beautiful city! She really used well the resources that she had and always piloted great conversation and brought up interesting points while analyzing the texts/performances that we read/saw. Cindy is absolutely fabulous! She genuinely cares about her students, not just academically, but spiritually as well. She has a fountain of knowledge and shares freely. She will test and challenge her students, but she consistently demonstrates the desire for each to understand and succeed. She is helpful and patient. Phenomenal!

She is so good at explaining grammer and has really helpful sheets to help you understand tricky concepts like adjective endings. She is a very gifted teacher and it is obvious that she loves what she does. I would HIGHLY reccomend her. She is good at preparing you for upcoming classes and creating a solid foundation. I love German and have had some great teachers, but Professor Brewer is the best I've ever had. You must be prepared to work hard, but you will learn more German in a short amount of time than you ever have before. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING CLASSES FROM HER! I came in with WAY less German than the rest of my class. It was hard the first semester with the TA teaching, but once she took over I started going to office hours and she was amazingly patient and helpful. I learned more in this one semester than I did in two years of high schools.

Sister Brewer was awesome. I've had 2 other german teachers before her and they were horrible. Sister Brewer actually helped me like German again. She is really nice and you can learn a lot from her.
