KNOW C++ BEFORE YOU SET FOOT IN THIS CLASS. I didnt and he has no time for someone that does know coding. I love computers but only worked with c++ slightly, and he doesnt stop to teach he just expects you to know it.

Cool Guy! very laid back; homeworks and projects were fairly easy (some actually fun if you have even a slight interest in programming); gives you a list of stuff to study for exams; no midterm; cancelled class a few times; very straight forward and the material goes quickly, although it can be pretty boring

Good teacher. Fair and easy if you stay up to date. Makes a subject that could be difficult easy. He'll probably cancel class more than you'll ever want to skip it too. Just don't hope for lots of email help.

Does most of the teaching off power point, would like to see a little more of code written, compiled, and run in class to give a better feel for how things work. Overall a good professor and person.

Uses powerpoint slides with a lot of writing and not a lot of code. If you have accepted that in college, you need to learn a lot of material on your own, Fischer is a good professor. If you still need someone to hold your hand, take it with someone else. Hits home on a lot of important concepts, doesnt waste time with useless stuff

Read all the reviews here before chosing this class, gave me a false sense of security. In the beginning he was helpful. Near the end, his responces to e-mails were very unhelpful, and pointed out the common sense solutions that you already tried. Class is jsut power point slides that are on the web. Get a smarter Professor. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

great prof, great notes, extremely fair on exams, final, projects. is an actual software engineer in the field so he brings actual experience not found with all cisc profs. def. recommend.

Best course I've had in this department. Clear, good notes in ppt on web, projects very educational, useful and proceed in logical scheme. If you need to learn JAVA, make sure to get this guy.
